Trey McGowens Eligible for the 2020-21 season
hhcmatt replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I could be wrong but it felt more like the timing of TA signing, in some regards recruiting over him while he's questioning how much of Nebraska's desire to keep him amounts to obligation, seemed like the issue as opposed to some personal gripe with TA. At that point the lineup for 2020-21 when he signed included Mack, Green, Burke, and Allen and where does that leave DW in terms of playing time? The remark about not recruiting freshmen (obviously not accurate) seems to validate this, IMO. Same sort of deal as Samari...coach change/bad timing...move on and hope it works out for everyone. -
This is amazing

That was extremely frustrating because dude didn't even wait until the end of the first semester and then 2 games later Jervay gets suspended for two games and there is an opportunity. Just a really bad timing sort of guy...he decommited from Cincy because Cronin left and then goes to Evansville and they replace Walter McCarty with Todd Lickliter the week after het gets there. -
2022 PG Avery Brown -> Columbia

According to that article he's 6'3" with an Adam Woodburry sized 6'8" wingspan -

Trey McGowens Eligible for the 2020-21 season

The comment I always listen for with Hoiberg is something along the lines of 'makes the easy pass' or 'knows the offense' or comments that indicate that the guy has a command of the Hoiberg system. That guy is going to play and if we have enough of those guys we're going to score easy buckets. Another random thing to listen for during the season during the pre-game is Hoiberg complimenting a guy who doesn't/hasn't played much as that player is in the Samari Curtis zone. Maybe we'll have a guy there this year or maybe DW got there without stepping on the court. -
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Was there a timeline about when McGowens might make an announcement?

As long as Sadler isn't compelled the day before the start of the season to warn us we're going to suck again, I shall consider the optimism to be valid! -

Stevenson's numbers at Pitt seem to indicate he's an above average rebounder -
We would still be recruiting McGowens if Whitt committed here and we were part of the Hunter Sallis sweepstakes.

Everyone is at some point an asshole. We're talking about whether or not Chambers is a tremendous asshole. In July it was revealed that Rashad Bolton transferred because Chambers was an asshole. Penn State started talking to everyone as a school like Penn State should have at least one sport in which it further investigates and it turns out that the guy who shoved Myles Dread during a game is a raging asshole per many former players and assistants. Seems pretty apparent he's in the neighborhood of the Bobby Knight/Woody Hayes zone of behavior without being in the zipcode of their results.

I actually screamed out loud when I read he resigned.

West's videos are the most remarkable I've seen in a while because they're just him scoring and scoring and scoring. Dude is a walking bucket but as a 6'1" guard maybe put in a bounce pass to a teammate once and a while.

We have approximately 41 offers out for our currently 6 open spots in 2022-23 -

6'2" PG out of Baltimore In addition to Power 5 offers he has Ivy League offers so must excel off the court as much as he does on it. Here is a rather detailed review of game tape on him which i skimmed over. Seems to be quick, has good court vision, an outside shot...most everything you're looking for in a PG. I thought he was a lefty at first but he has a right handed shot....seemed pretty ambidextrous

SC State might be on there as well

Probably a more interesting exercise would be to guess his top 5 I'll roll with Florida St Wake Forest North Carolina Oregon Nebraska
