  1. Just to bring this thread completely off the rails Goodbye Kevin Cross Though I never knew you at all And it seems to me you lived your life Like a candle in the wind Taking all those 3pt shots Because they left you open
  2. I'm not sure if you meant it this way, but we could have had Andre and Cross (or pick your one scholarship player from above). It was Trevor Lakes who signed later that one would have to choose between in this exercise.
  3. Current Nebrasketbubble status
  4. No worries I had to search because I didn't remember making the thread in the first place :)
  5. I think he's going to be a rich man's Jeriah Horne. You're probably right about him not being a fit here but that dude is eventually going to excel as a small ball center/PF for Ron Hunter at Tulane.

  7. Per Jon Rothstein Trey McGowens's reaction on twitter Look for the Pitt transfer to be in play for major minutes/starting nod for the upcoming season. View full article

  9. Give me Green or Burke over Wood for the scholarship I know I will have available in 2021 and the experienced depth in case of injury.
  10. Banton and McGowens haven't been reliable outside shooters in their college career and that's certainly the book on Banton. Maybe one of them makes a Thor like leap but it seems a lot more likely that they'll be below average outside shooters. You can mitigate this stuff though, especially since both are capable of performing as PGs/Combo guards. They can be driving to the basket and if they're making the smart decision whether to pass or shoot, it will work out when guys like Thor and Lat are on the corner waiting to pop a 3. (or even Webster, Allen, or heck even Stevenson). I'm very curious what sort of percentage Kobe Webster can hit from outside taking open shots. He spent most of his career being the focal point of an offense and having to get his own shot.
  11. Red Team on Friday has Kobe Webster Teddy Allen Trey McGowens Derrick Walker Andre Eduardo Trevor Lakes Chris McGraw White Team has Dalano Banton Yvan Thor Lat Mayan Akol Arop Elijah Wood? I didn't catch where Wood was but heposted himself shooting in a white jersey on Friday. Possible that's an old picture though
  12. It looks like they're planning to play starting in January but you're probably right should they end up scrapping the season. https://www.rangersports.net/sports/mbkb/2020-21/schedule
  13. We just landed a recruit that recruiting people have on the level of Traudt so we're getting "Jimmys and Joes". My point is that it's not a good use of our time to recruit a guy that isn't going to end up because it means we're spending less time on someone who will. And it's not like we haven't recruited either of these Nebraska guys either. We'll see if that might come into play one day should they end up transferring from wherever they commit. There was talent last year but in hindsight guys like Dachon Burke and Jervay Green would be better suited in Miles' dribble drive offense and Cam Mack without anyone on the active roster to provide a higher level of play and leadership was a disaster. We need the type of talent that can operate what Hoiberg wants to run at a high level and it seems like we're heading that way.
  14. Summary of our July-Oct 2020 recruiting efforts
  15. Breienbach clocks in at 6'9" 210# and his combination of height, high motor, and ability to stretch the floor on offense via outside shooting is specifically what Nebraska is looking for in the post. This in-person review from one of our members spells out in detail what we might expect in the future at Nebraska from Breienbach: Nebraska currently has all of their scholarships for 2021 filled though they're continuing to actively recruit that class with the foregone conclusion that player attrition is inevitable.
  16. Nebraska has secured the services of their second recruit for the class of 2021 in F/C Wilhelm Breidenbach from Santa Ana, California. Breidenbach as a member of basketball power Mater Dei High School had been on Nebraska's radar for most of the Fred Hoiberg era. (Nebraska offered in June of 2019, Fred started in April of 2019) Breienbach clocks in at 6'9" 210# and his combination of height, high motor, and ability to stretch the floor on offense via outside shooting is specifically what Nebraska is looking for in the post. 17. Hope he lands that Clippers job. That's on a golden platter for him to be successful.
  18. Like I said earlier, winning some games would go a long way here and the timing isn't great. If Sallis is in the class of 2019, does he end up at what looks like a stable/up and coming Nebraska? Was Traudt ever going to go to an instate school once his recruiting blew up? We're paying a guy a bunch of money to land recruits, not for the number of Tipton edits our school appears on.
  19. It's amazing how brutally honest Danny Nee was in that DN article. At one point when talking about the talent in Nebraska and given that the state of Nebraska had 15 D-1 kids, he named 3 as high end and said you'd need to help him on the rest. His reasons for not recruiting Mason was that they already had Lue and Mason's support people thought he would be better if he got out of Lincoln. If you're honestly evaluating it definitely was the right call.
  20. Sallis and Traudt aren't coming here. While I agree that Creighton has a better relationship with both does that really matter much if they don't end up there either?
  21. Wasn't really familiar with Alton at all. For those who don't know, Alston is his son. Alton was a standout in Lincoln NE and ended up at Arizona St where he had a great career as a 3 year starter and then playing in Europe. The funny this is if you google him you'll mostly come up with information on his other son, Alton Mason Jr who is a highly successful male model. We're full on scholarships for 2021 now but we seem to be proceeding like we will have our inevitable attrition.
  22. I red them as well!
  23. 6'10" or so from Paris, France (he has referred to himself as 7'0") Currently playing at Winston Salem Christian School which is a new player in the national basketball scene Seems to be adequately skilled from outside the lane https://ncpreps.rivals.com/news/ncpreps-hoops-intro-christ-essandoko https://phenomhoopreport.com/a-new-big-man-in-north-carolina-2022-610-christ-essandoko/
