  1. The conference can mandate that people can't attend games. They can't mandate that for some reason we're going to have a covid party inside of the arena where we play basketball. Good Lord!
  2. (This summary of the presser isn't in order, it's more grouped by topic/person. First was HCFH followed by Banton and Yvan) Hoiberg checking in for the first time this year Work ethic is good, has to kick guys out of the gym Guys are working out without the coaches Had one positive Covid test in the group thus far, which is no longer active Had their first 'real' intersquad scrimmage on Friday and the players have taken a break from practice until Wednesday Multiple guys will initiate the offense (mentions by name Webster, McGowens, Banton) List Banton's playmaking ability as his biggest asset though brings up turnovers at this point. Lists Thor, Webster, McGowens, Mayan, Allen, and Stevenson when listing 3pt shooers. First game is approximately 42 days away. Hoiberg can't get into any details about hosting a tournament other than if you play in a tourney (which we are planning to host), you can play 27 games. Else, it's 25. (The unspoken holdup here is that the B1G needs to give the OK for teams to play out of conference. A lot like with the McGowens ruling the team is preparing like this will be a go.) *** Hoiberg specifically mentions Lat Mayan at the 5 *** Is able to make this work due to the length/size he can put at all the other positions. Approached the season as if Trey McGowens would be eligible. Impactful on both sides, led the ACC in steals, can play multiple positions on offense. Hoiberg talks up his improvement on his shot. "Willingness to make simple plays" (This is a Hoiberg phrase for a guy making the right decision in his offense) Not sure if I'd put much thought into what Dalano Banton sounded like, but seems to sound very Canadian. Thinks his improvement has been his jump shooting and putting on weight. Mentions getting back to the basics like his footwork and keeping his head still. While in Toronto he wasn't able to access gym and lost weight, which he had to put back on when he came back to Nebraska. Coach talked about Yvan Ouedraogo's overall progression including during his freshman year and his commitment to development during the offseason. Quoted someone for saying 'the best thing about freshmen is that they become sophomores'. Hoiberg mentioned that Eduardo has been improving daily and having that sort of length at his disposal has been a benefit for Yvan to practice against it. Yvan realized that he needed to put in a lot of effort into his workouts this summer after playing against the bigs in the B1G. Worked on changing his hand position for his FT shooting. 4. You missed out on the one sport that traditionally has been beloved in a bubble
  5. Seems like Duncan Robinson is having the start to his career you might have expected from Doug McDermott or even Andrew White
  6. I watched most of it. It was too bad that the Heat lost Gorin Dragic but the Lakers still probably win anyway. Game 5 was a great watch. I will say that without a crowd it does seem less exciting/impactful however you can't argue with how effective the bubble was.
  7. The San Francisco Dons have been added. That puts us at 8.
  8. This guy has always been a noted dick but holy hell Short of covering up a murder though there is no way a school like Wichita State is parting ways with a guy like Marshall who wins a ton of games there.
  9. The question with Trey is not so much whether he can handle the ball but how much he needs to handle the ball, assuming that part of the reason he left Pitt was because Xavier Johnson dominated the PG position in a way similar to Cam Mack. At this point I'm unclear on if there will be a dominant 'bring the ball up and initiate the offense' guy or if that will be spread over 2-3 guys as Hoiberg has teams that have done both.
  10. 6'0" PG out of Atlanta Trey McGowens' cousin
  11. Elevate Hoops has a placeholder for an event with the same name on their website
  12. Makes sense that the school that managed to get on NCAA probation is the same one that inadvertently blurted out the name of the tourney
  13. Elijah Wood. They were going to play together at basketball factory Lincoln Academy in NC until the school shut down.
  14. I had also forgotten that we had offered him already so there was an existing thread
  15. McGowens committed as a 4 star and now is a 5 star in the class of 2021. Seems like a guy that is going to Herro his way to Kentucky as opposed to a guy looking to play at his brother's school where there are zero publicly available scholarships
  16. When is the last time a guy decommitted and then recommitted? 'I am decommitting but keeping you guys in the mix' is the recruiting version of 'I think we should see other people'
  17. I hope you took the unders on "When Donovan Williams come back to Lincoln?"
  18. Just to bring this thread completely off the rails Goodbye Kevin Cross Though I never knew you at all And it seems to me you lived your life Like a candle in the wind Taking all those 3pt shots Because they left you open
  19. I'm not sure if you meant it this way, but we could have had Andre and Cross (or pick your one scholarship player from above). It was Trevor Lakes who signed later that one would have to choose between in this exercise.
  20. Current Nebrasketbubble status
  21. No worries I had to search because I didn't remember making the thread in the first place :)
