  1. I hate to say it but this looks to be a saliently bad team. Andy Katz has them sixteenth in the conference. That seems generous. They can't shoot, are startlingly slow afoot, don't distribute the ball well and turn it over to a pathological degree. Other than that, they look great. Friends, this is year six of the Hoiberg experiment. I know he is smart and competitive, but this team is headed back to the bottom where they usually reside. As MichHusker said, '...Hoiberg went into the portal and got next to 0 offensive threats'. How can someone as smart as Hoiberg think these players can compete in the Big Ten? Is it because they are as tall and heavy? They have no chance of defending the opposing guards in the league. They are a team of flat-foots. Wow! This will likely be the Hoiberg's last year, and it should be. St. Mary's will run them out of the gym and the CU game will be an all-time laugher (CU by 35+) as it usually is. The A.D. might as well put on his blindfold and spin the available coaching wheel.... Next!
  2. I wonder about Berke Buyuktuncel as well. First, we hear words to the effect that we should hear some good news soon, and then radio silence. It seems we don't have any official insiders who do their jobs. (you prob. know the guys I'm talking about) Hoiberg and staff need to find the money to bring Brazile home. He's better than Kyle III. It would more than make up for the punks who supposedly considered NU: especially Fidler and Milicic. Others in the go pound-sand cohort: Saint Thomas, C. Hepburn and always, H. Sallis.
  3. Is there any scuttlebutt or is this blind hope? What is the word?
  4. ...and possibly his brother as well.
  5. You're welcome. (About them being very, very tall: You and me both, brother!)
  6. I'm happy to, JimmyKc. It is a poem from the great Carl Sandburg. Even though sport brings us together it is nice to be able to stretch a bit. The poem is accessed in the link below. https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poetrymagazine/browse?contentId=40527
  7. Let's hope we get to find out. I so wish we had a lead in this matter. Do we have a legitimate shot at him (and/or) another player. I think NU really needs a stretch four in light of Mast's bad-fortune.
  8. I like seeing the program is now being taken seriously, but like most (all?) on this board we need another forward (UCLA transfer, perhaps) at least. Another all around wing would be great. Why hold on to scholarships when so many defect each year anyway. Does anyone have any scuttlebutt regarding Berke Buyuktuncel from UCLA? Robin Washut, what say ye?
  9. I agree with Fullbacksympathy. I think the gloom has to do with our missing out on the local players in the portal. That said, I don't think Hoiberg and staff are done searching for a versatile large forward to try to offset the redshirting of Mast. I look forward to any insights or leads people more connect than I am are, regarding the players we are still looking to add. I recall getting Derrick Walker late in the cycle a few years ago. Let's hope Hoiberg is hunting for one more difference-maker.
  10. The more highlights I watch the more Meah impresses me. Listen to the commentators on his improvement, game effort and "measurables". I think he may be a gem. That said, Hoiberg needs to find a stretch four to offset the loss of Mast, and a dynamic scorer on the wing would be nice as well. Does anyone have any inside information on who NU may be chasing at this time (if anyone)?
  11. Does Hoiberg continue to search for a stretch four in light of the news about Mast's redshirting?
  12. That's probably a better idea.
  13. Offering a Kentucky-like suggestion to help pursuade William Kyle III to become a Husker. I think it would be very effective if the Spring Game crowd chants his name this coming Saturday. I'm sure some brainy young person could lead the effort. I don't think Wake Forest fans will be inclined to do so. The rumor is he want(ed) to play close to home. Just a thought!
  14. I am very hopeful with all the players Hoiberg and staff have secured so far. Like many on this board I think we need to secure Milicic Jr. and Kyle III. Is there any word on the likelihood of landing them? What do the experts (Robin Washut) and others think?
