Preliminary starting lineup for 21-22

It's the shooting that will get Bryce on the court. He's an elite shooter from anywhere. That's a major difference between he and Sallis offensively. -

Terrifying bunch right there. What do you even do to prepare for that group if you’re the opposing defense? They are going to score an insane amount of points. -
Thanks for this. I didn’t realize how big of an influence coach Pop was on Fred. That’s my favorite revelation about his coaching thus far. The film looks like a team from a different planet. The intelligence in spacing and passing is oozing from this roster, not to mention the talent. I have never seen a team like this at Nebraska. It’s going to be a very, very interesting season.

Really like this offer. Kid has a skillset very similar to Teddy's. -

This tells you exactly what Fred wants to do with Dalano. He's only 55lbs lighter than Lebron :) but I think their games are quite similar. -
One telling difference between this roster and almost every other roster ever is Nebraska has no "hustle guys." I can't stand having a roster with "hustle guys." All that means is we filled the spot with someone who isn't good enough to be there and has to overcome their talent deficiencies with body-sacrifice efforts every night. That guy is always fun to watch and cheer on, but I am looking forward to admiring his efforts on an opposing team for once. The closest thing we have to that guy is Thor, but he can shoot the mess out of the ball now, so he's no longer that guy. Fred is the end of hustle guy.

This season’s team should be better on the glass and longer defensively. It has a lot more depth. Beyond that, though, I think overall team shooting will be a huge step forward and an even bigger step forward next season. So on the surface it seems fairly close, but for what Fred wants to with his 5 our offense, this roster is well beyond what the others were capable of doing.

I'm a softy for bigs and their potential. Andre is a real specimen. There are plenty of tools to work with there. When comparing him to Yvan, I think we'll basically be trading height for quickness. Yvan is a very good lateral defender, and he'll probably be amazing this season when he hedges on the pick and roll after chiseling up his body. But I don't think he'll be a rim protector simply because of his height. I also think Yvan will be an improved rebounder with his lift. Andre has a God-given wingspan and will alter a ton of shots when he's in. I don't think he'll be a strong rebounder initially. So I'd say Yvan's lateral defense, rebounding, and general feel/flow within the offense will be why he gets minutes over Andre... but I agree that the distance between the two in terms of their value is minimal, and there will be matchups where we'll need Andre's height in the defensive post. -
6’6”, skilled, athletic, long, and an elite shooter. He’s a prototype NBA shooting guard. He doesn’t need to play within a system to score as he’s comfortable pulling up from anywhere outside of the 3pt line and scoring one on one. He can be effective as a combo guard for sure. I’m guessing he’ll play off the ball primarily and help at point. If you’re talking Banton/Allen, he’s basically both.
-
Very apt comparison. Levert plays at 205lbs. I think we can put at least 20lbs on BM.
-
is the steal hire of the decade in college basketball. Can’t say it enough... He’s that dude.
-
This is the exact lineup I’ve been hoping for. Having muscle off the bench is really handy against tired legs.
-
Beat me to it.

I've gotta think Fred doesn't care about class rankings and that they skew away from us due to the transfer philosophy. I mean... Kobe, Trey, Banton, and Stevenson certainly add quite a bit to our team. But it's also good to get a scope on how our high schoolers rank. I just don't think the rankings matter as much as the star power of the players' original senior rating.

I'd put Lat and Teddy in the first group. I'd add Wilhelm to the second group. -

I said the same thing--at least he can be used similarly. He's a much better offensive player in general than RG, but RG was a very good perimeter defender. Again, I think I think KT can be coached up on that end. His shot is just deadly. -

Freak athlete. Interesting. -
He’ll definitely get more blocks this year with his insane body transformation, but I expect we’ll be blocks by committee when considering our general length. Andre is a pretty serious specimen for shot blocking down the road and may help us some this year.

Keeping Up with Old Friends (The Transferred Thread)

Gotta think TA would've had fun on this squad playing for these coaches. He's a good kid to boot. Wish him well. -
I'm not comparing Banton to Lebron, but I think they'll have some similar point-forward roles. My hope is that Banton has enough weight to guard the 4. If he does, he's going to be an absolute terror on offense while goofball traditional B1G 4s attempt to guard him on the perimeter. If he's quick enough to guard the 2-3, they may run the offense through him in the high post or starting on the block. Either way, it's good for the good guys. He's gonna be a problem.
