Indeed we do have a good idea of what to expect from Amy based on her last 7 seasons…but I’m not sure that’s an argument in Amy’s favor. Darn it, sorry. It’s WAY too early in the season for my cynicism to start taking hold. Carry on.

Every year, Creighton doesn’t beat us with superior athletes, they beat us with better coaching, better team chemistry.
-
Not looking very promising for a win today. But still enough time for a comeback. Every year, I walk away from this matchup saying to myself “Creighton is just a solidly-coached team. They just don’t seem to beat themselves.”
-
And yep, I can see why y’all are so excited about Potts. She looks great for a true freshman! She and Prince playing together will make a formidable duo!
-
This is the first game I’ve been able to watch this season. Coley looking thicker than I remember. Like she’s spent some time in the weight room. That will serve her well if she’s playing the 4 position, to not be so spindly.
-
I was really hoping for that breakout season from Moriarty this year. Hoped that she could finally put all the pieces together and be a significant contributor on both ends of the floor. I feel like Hake is a liability on the defensive end with her smaller stature. But she’s a very capable shooter, I get it.
-
Coach Williams, congratulations! I’d started to lose faith in the last couple months that we could close this deal, but you got it done! I’m more than happy to be eating this plate of crow today!
-
I didn’t watch the game. Did Callin Hake get any minutes? She seems to be overlooked by us on this board. She seems to be a mystery. If I’m being honest, I’ve wondered if she’s really not a Big Ten-caliber player. At least not the level of player NU is going to need at the guard spot to compete in this absolutely brutal conference.

10 best passers in women's college basketball...
Neb Nets replied to whoopdeedoo's topic in Row 6 Seat 10
I gotta give the devil her due - Caitlin Clark is a fantastic passer. Like, it’s basically unfair - a player who is that deadly of a shooter ALSO has such amazing court vision and is an assist machine?? Great. Yay. Go Iowa -
I know we disagree on this, but I would far rather see her play for Creighton than play for Iowa.
-
There was loose talk (read: rumors likely based on wishful thinking) this spring about NU making some room for Britt’s mom to serve on the WBB staff in some capacity if Britt chose Nebraska. But if that were to be true, then I would think that would give NU a decided advantage. But I’m with you, Whoopdeedoo, the longer this goes on without an announcement, the less I like NU’s chances. Then again, whatever happens, happens. You all know how I feel: I don’t care where she goes, just ANYWHERE but Iowa!
-
I worry about Ally Batenhorst - that gal would absolutely be starting for any other VB team in America, but here, she hardly plays. That’s the drawback to having dream team-level talent like John Cook has this year. Everyone on the roster was a nationally-ranked star in high school and is super competitive. They all expect to play and with only 6 spots on the floor, you just can’t keep everyone happy.
-
I’m just going to say this (yet again): as long as Maggie is trying to play both volleyball and basketball, she’ll never reach her full potential in either sport. She can be good in both sports, she can even be a contributor on both teams….both realize her full potential? I don’t see how.
-
This is some high level volleyball! Especially for only being Sept. 12. Sorry, friends, but I just don’t see Maggie M usurping either Allick or Andi Jackson and seeing any consequential minutes at the middle blocker position this season.

Said it before, I’ll say it again - I’m so thankful that Clark doesn’t have a little sister at home who would go to Iowa and torment us for another 4 seasons -

Can that be verified? Is this truly her last year? Cuz I would really enjoy the upcoming WBB season more if I knew that she definitely won’t be back the next season! -
2024 SF, Amiah Hargrove, 6-2, Christopher HS (IL) is 'N'
Neb Nets replied to Red Don's topic in Row 6 Seat 10
Exciting project! I wonder if Lisa Bluder and Iowa pursued her being right next door to Illinois? Allow me a moment of satisfaction to pretend Bluder wanted Amiah but she chose NU instead. I’ll savor a win over Iowa WBB anywhere I can find it - on the court or on the recruiting trail! -
Ooof Just when I was feeling great about being in her top 5, I glance at the other 4 schools and see that damn Hawkeye logo. It haunts me!
-
I saw that! Jordy Bahl is kinda the softball equivalent to Britt Prince in terms a of a home state phenom in her respective sport!
-
I’m taking the expectation management approach - I don’t expect her to come to NU at all. That way, I won’t be disappointed if and when she doesn’t. And if she does come to Nebraska? I’ll be elated in my surprise! But in all seriousness, if she doesn’t come here, I won’t be too shocked. I wish her luck wherever she goes. Unless that “wherever” happens to be Iowa. Dear God, anywhere but Iowa. Please.
-
I’ve probably said this before but in regards to K Coley, with her height, body type and her skill set, she’s kinda stuck in between the 3 and 4 positions. I still think she’s capable of great things, though. Would love to see her have a breakout season!
-
I don’t think we fully realize yet how much we’ll miss Bourne’s game on the inside next year. (Kinda like we didn’t realize at the start of last season how much we would miss Bella Cravens on the inside) Don’t think any one player is capable of replacing Bourne’s experience, fundamentals, high basketball IQ and her overall savvy on the court.
-
Heck, I’m just enjoying reading actual ACTIVITY on this board during these comatose offseason months. Keep it coming!

Dang, over 11,000 AVERAGE? Give the devil their due - that’s impressive. Their attendance numbers may drop off a bit after next season when Clark has graduated (God willing she leaves Iowa and moves on. Lol) But still, I would expect their tremendous fan support to continue. Bluder’s program has reached the level where their success just breeds more success. Darn it.
