Iowa small forward Shateah Wetering has entered the transfer portal. Listed at 6 feet tall. From Montezuma, Iowa. Think the NU staff oughta pursue her, friends? We need help at the 4 and 5 positions but she may be a bit undersized to do what we need. She is described as a versatile, athletic player, though.

A good example of how Iowa WBB has reached a point where their success just breeds more success. Another way to look at it: the rich just get richer. -
Anyone else holding their breath waiting to see if any NU players throw their name into the portal? There’s a player I’ve been wondering/worried about. I hope that she decides to stay at Nebraska, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she transferred instead. Nor would I hold it against her. But then again, if she was going to make a move, I would think she’d have declared by now. Just have to wait and see.

Preach! As I said on another discussion thread, as long as Maggie tries to play both VB and BB, she’ll never reach her full potential in either sport. Now, she’s a good enough athlete that she can be a contributor for both teams. But realize her full potential in either sport? I just don’t see how.

Does Van Lith have an individual NIL deal with Adidas or are you referring to Louisville being an Adidas school? If she were to limit her transfer destinations to Adidas schools, I’m sorry, but I’d see her going to Indiana way before she would come to Nebraska. I think playing for Teri Moren would be a stronger draw.

12dozen, I think Amy Williams generally doesn’t prioritize transparency with the media or the WBB fan base. Especially not in the offseason. She seems to much more prefer to keep her cards close to her vest. Maybe that’s a bit of arrogance there on her part, I don’t know. I do wish there was a more regular flow of information year round from the WBB program to the loyal fan base just like there is with the NU Volleyball program and their fan base. (I know, I know, Neb Nets is bagging on Coach Williams again. What else is new?)

Was it classy or good sportsmanship for Angel Reese to stare down Clark and point to her ring finger at the end of the game? No. Do I feel the least bit bad for Clark? Also no.

Has the city of Omaha ever pursued the NCAA WBB Final Four? They should - plenty of downtown hotel rooms to accommodate the event and the arena certainly holds enough people. Just surprised that Omaha has never hosted this event. Would be a big time get for the city.

WTH is Kim Mulkey wearing?

It shows it can be done? I mean, sure, all you need is a guard who is probably the greatest pure scorer that the women’s game has ever seen!
-
Yep. Said it in another thread, I’ll say it again: thank heavens Clark doesn’t have a little sister coming up who would go to Iowa and torch us for 4 years.

If Moriarty has the offseason development that we all hope she has, I can see her surpassing Krull in terms of being more of an impact player.

NU WBB Facebook just posted video of Jaz saying she’s coming back next year!! LETS GO!!!

Just imagine how much Mendelson could develop/improve next year if she dropped volleyball and committed full-time to basketball. It’s admirable what she is attempting to do; her determination is inspiring. However, by trying to play both college VB and college BB, she is never going to reach her full potential in either sport, in my opinion. I know that her scholarship is with the NU WBB team…and if we’re being honest, friends, the WBB team needs Maggie a lot more than the VB team does. NU VB team is absolutely LOADED. -
Hey all, if NU WBB had any players who were planning to leave the team and enter the portal, do you think they would have declared so by now? In other words, do you think at this point we are safe and every young lady on the roster this season will be returning for NU next season? (I’m still clinging to hope that Jaz will return for one more season. Clinging to that hope like a life raft on a stormy sea)

Please shout out the last sentence of your post for the people in the back.

Donarski from ISU is intriguing. Anyone know where she is from? If she’s from Iowa, that would give NU an advantage seemingly - she could transfer to Lincoln and still be relatively close to her hometown and family. On the flip side of that coin, I don’t know if she would be attracted to Iowa. It ain’t like she’s gonna come in and supplant Clark in the starting lineup. Might be much easier for her to secure a starting spot at Nebraska next season.

Not a big Creighton fan, but seeing them bounce Iowa out in round 2 of the Women’s NCAA Tourney last year? On Iowa’s home court, no less? That was absolutely delightful for me to watch. And that satisfaction may have to sustain me for at least another season
-
I wish the WNBA made multimillionaires out of their draftees - maybe Clark would forgo her senior season at Iowa and go pro this summer! Would any of the schools in the B1G outside of Iowa miss her? Nope. But alas, we all have one more season of Clark torching us to endure

I get what you’re saying, HUD. You’re right in the fact that NU has won 5 national titles in VB and I don’t think Iowa VB has ever even sniffed the VB Final Four. Also, regarding the overall all-time records between the schools, it’s much more even in WBB than in VB. (Has Iowa ever even beaten NU in VB?) Still, I look at Iowa WBB and they are widening the gap between us and them with each passing year recently. NU hasn’t beaten Iowa in WBB since 2019, I believe, and I don’t see that trend reversing 2 years from now after CC has graduated. Iowa WBB has reached a point where their success breeds more success (much like NU in VB) And in terms of recruiting, player development, coaching staff, and coverage in the national media…..Friends, Iowa WBB is leaving us in the dust.

It’s funny - as a Nebraska WBB fan, I look at the Iowa WBB program and I get the same feeling that I would imagine an Iowa Volleyball fan gets when they observe the Nebraska Volleyball program. It’s a feeling of dismay and resignation. A feeling where you cannot escape the reality that their program is better than our program by every possible measure. It just is what it is.

Fair enough. Do what you gotta do

Yep, me again. I know, I know…I should be supportive of all the Big Ten teams still in the tourney. And any other conference team, I would be rooting for them against Louisville tonight. But not Iowa. Sorry, nope. Related note: Can’t believe the Buckeyes knocked out UCONN. Wow!
