We may or may not win this game, but what is most striking to me is how different Iowa carries themselves this year without their once in a generation talent on the floor. A different team psychologically - they look very mortal.
-
Lordy, do we love launching 3s
-
If we had a healthy Potts and a healthy Weidner, I think we win this game relatively easily. Oh, and I’m still salty about McCabe going to play at Iowa. Lol
-
And we were robbed of what the potent inside combination of Markowski/Potts woulda looked like this season
-
Maybe so. We’ve seen this before - a talented player who loves the game and has the determination to play, but fate and the Universe just don’t cooperate and their promising careers are cut short. (Taylor Kissinger comes to mind)
-
Ugh Heartbreaking. Like I said after Potts’ knee injury ended her season, it’s like we’re cursed or something.
-
Did that play a role in Bluder’s decision to step down after last season? Maybe she saw the writing on the wall and wasn’t interested in coaching a team of mortals after losing her once in a generation player.
-
Like the announcers said it’s been a brutal 3 game stretch for NU. This is where playing all those creampuffs and cupcakes at the start of the season didn’t serve us to prepare us for how brutal conference play will be. But at the same time, I understand scheduling lesser competition to log wins and gain critical confidence as a team.
-
Another bad 3rd quarter just like against UCLA. It’s getting away from us.
-
Some may disagree but I think Petrie has better inside footwork and offensive moves in the paint than Markowski does
-
I mean, this game will likely be a tally mark in the L Column, but I’m just happy that it’s on regular BTN and I’ll be able to watch it.
-
This one might sting a bit This is likely how Iowa VB fans feel before their team plays Nebraska

NEBRASKA VS Georgia Tech game day thread 12-21-2024

Honestly, can we really deny that one of the hallmarks of Amy’s teams year in and year out at NU has been living & dying by the 3 point shot? -

Wish I could watch but I don’t get that network. Will be tuning into this thread for in-game updates. Give ‘er hell ladies! -
Minnesota (10-0) vs. Nebraska (7-1) Game Thread

I watched the recording of the game on my DVR. That’s the first game I’ve been able to watch on tv this season. It was great to see them back at it! Any B1G conference win is a good win this season, and every season going forward. What an absolutely murderous conference. At one point while watching the game, I felt a momentary feeling of melancholy, realizing that Jaz Shelley really has moved on and is no longer here. She really was dazzling and endearing. How lucky we were to have her here. I don’t think I’ll ever forget her. -
Nebraska VS Lindenwood Tues Dec 3 2024 at 7:00 PM GAME THREAD

I think it’s harsh to say that Coley is useless. However, I will agree that she has underachieved during her time at NU. Do you guys remember how highly touted of a recruit she was coming here out of Minnesota? I believe she even graduated high school early in December and joined NU in January. She was billed as a difference-maker. For over 4 years now, I have been waiting for her to “put it all together” and realize her full potential as a b-ball player, become a major contributor on both ends of the court. But for whatever reason, that just hasn’t happened. -

Is it still early enough in the season that she could qualify for a medical redshirt for this season and then come back next year with 3 seasons of eligibility with NU? Apologies if that’s been discussed on here already. -

Some things in life just suck. This is one of those things I’m heartbroken for Natalie, for her teammates, for her coaches, for all of us fans who passionately follow NU WBB. Friends, this is a gigantic sh*t sandwich and we’re all gonna have to take a bite. It’s like we’re cursed or something. -

I was thinking that Southeastern. Louisiana was a cupcake and would be a total pushover. I was wrong. They played much much more competitively than I thought they would. -

Absolutely no point in playing her today if she isn’t 100% healthy. If we need Prince in order to beat Southeastern Louisiana, it’s gonna be a long season. -
Is it a cream puff-laden non con schedule? Well, yeah. But given what a meat grinder of a WBB conference the B1G has become, I’m willing to excuse it.

Sorry to hear that you were downvoted. Were you the one who posted the pic of that recruit in a Michigan uniform? I can’t find that post anymore so maybe it was taken down? Maybe they were downvoting her decommitment from NU and not downvoting you personally as a poster on this board? I’m sad that we lost that highly touted recruit, but I wouldn’t ever downvote the messenger of that news on this forum. Not naming any names, but in the past, I have been downvoted on this board a couple times by a certain poster when I posted an opinion where I was critical of Amy Williams as a basketball coach. Oh well…
-
Where are the bigs, indeed. I’m still disappointed with how we did in the transfer portal this spring. We needed to bring in some talent in the post. Imagine how much this program will miss Markowski after this season. We have no hope of finding any one player who will be able to come in and do everything that Alexis brought to the table.
-
Thanks redsteve. So the Gessert twins are considered the top in-state prospects? Darn. I know they already committed to Creighton. I was very surprised they wouldn’t want to come to NU to play with Britt Prince.
-
Right. But she was class of 2024. I’m asking who is considered the top in-state girls basketball prospect for the class that will be seniors this fall, class of 2025.
