It'll be nice to just have another player but she hasn't hardly played in like 4 years. I'm hoping for the best but im not expecting alot.

I wouldnt expect her to play much at all but MInnesota has Borowicz whos an early enrollee as well, been on their team for like 2 weeks and she played a few minutes today. Coley can really shoot the ball so Id expect her to play limited minutes but Id temper expectations for this year.

Minnesota shoots a bunch of 3's and they are gonna shoot em well when they are wide open like today. Minnesota has talent but covid and injuries has really hurt them so far. We had a huge mismatch with Cain but didnt really use it.

Hes wrong they started playing games last Friday, but its gonna be a short season and who knows if theyll even make it through the full season.

And dont let Scalia get open looks, Minnesota is a dangerous team despite what their record says, they are the far more athletic team but dont have the size to matchup with Cain.

What are the chances she stays healthy? Shes played like 3 games in the last 3 years.

I dont even know where to start with this topic but Id say the biggest thing is we lack athleticism, We are soooo slow. Haiby and Bourne are high major athletes no one else on the team is. Its easy to see why a player like Scoggins had no other offers, shes small, slow, cant create her own shot, and cant defend anyone, you just cant get away with players like that and Williams is building rosters full of them.

Its year 5 and we're still one of the worst teams in the conference, whats to lose other than a couple recruits?

I thought our man to man defense was bad but then they switched to zone and it was even worse, lol.

Just 3 games against bad teams, Illinois is the worst team in the big ten and we needed Haiby to have the game of her career to sneak past them.

I dont think we're not playing hard, we're just really slow.

Mara Braun, Mallory Heyer, and Nia Holloway is a heck of an in state group for them.

I just think Mershon was a bad fit with Nebraska, shes better in an uptempo system where she can run the floor and set screens and roll or pop. With Cain always in the post it really hurt Mershons skill set imo. I think she's a good fit in the Whalen system where they space the floor and have pretty electric guards. Itll be interesting to see how she does there.

This was in the article in the post bulletin, dont look like she even considered Nebraska. Meister, who’d also been offered by Minnesota but removed it from her list recently when a couple of players with similar skills committed there, had a group of four schools that she was considering: Kansas State, Illinois and Wisconsin the others.

Im sure the coaches reached out to her but it probably didnt get very far. Minnesota quit recruiting her awhile ago because they knew they had no shot, Stanfords sitting good Ive heard.

Its almost gotta be someone with TT ties, Maybe Erin Grant or Krista Gerlich. I just cant see many coaches wanting this job.

I'm guessing they dismiss everyone on the staff.

Firing her was the only choice they had, recruiting woulda been a disaster if they kept her.

Taylor Mccabe will be committing to Iowa soon. I was told shes already told Iowa coaches her decision.

Sure Im also judging her against other sophomores. My daughter plays in the same aau program (not the same team) as her and Callin and her family are great people so I hope Im wrong. I just dont think her game translates to p5, like i said i really hope Im wrong.

I hope I'm wrong on this but Im not real high on Hake, She's small and more of a wing than pg and not very athletic. She plays hard and leaves it all on the court but I just dont know if her game translates to the p5 level.

Braun is the best player on the team, better than Stewart. She'd be on everyones radar if there was an aau season this summer. She's dang good.

Really good guards, i know the staff there is extremely high on Sissoko. If they can find some post players theyll be tough. Size and depth has been a huge problem for them in Whalens 1st 2 years but they should be better there.
