  1. I don’t know if I have ever seen a team with more variance in their performances than this team. It’s remarkable. Obviously there’s the home and away element but that doesn’t entirely answer everything. What it screams is a lack of general athleticism and/or lack of size/length. Those things make up for energy/effort/crowd. I wouldn’t stray too far away from what we’re doing X’s and O’s, talent eval wise, but we certainly have to get a little better athlete at certain positions.
  2. Was easily the most frustrating part of the game. We played right into their hands. Broke it, then stopped everything to try to run our offense. We should have been in break and attack mode the entire time. They would have been out of it after 3 possessions if we did.
  3. Soft team, physically and mentally, unless literally everything is going well for them and the crowd is for them.
  4. You can make your argument at the tribunal.
  5. I move to have @MichHusker Permanently banned. @hhcmatt
  6. This defense, when played at 100%, can literally beat anyone and that is an awesome thing to have in your back pocket. This defense, at 99% makes you liable to be beat by nearly any common opponent and even some worse opponents. That is not a gamble, risk/reward proposition, I would be willing to engage in.
  7. Strong disagree. At minimum a severe oversimplification.
  8. Fwiw I fully understand this defense and was kind of being a troll here. This defense is a “junk” defense. Junk, not defined as saying it’s “bad,” but junk defined as by saying it’s not a normal, straight-up, defense (true man, or true zone). It’s like playing a box and 1, or triangle and 2, etc… those things are defined as a “junk” defense. To be completely honest, I am so tired of watching it. It requires absolutely perfect communication and perfect execution to beat nearly any common or better opponent. If you don’t have “it,” you’re gonna probably lose to people you shouldn’t. And there’s a major drop off on the road without your crowd energy. Your best defense has and always will be deliberately dictating your offensive tempo and shot selection. Those two things will always do more for your defense than what you’re actually running on defense. It’s time for Coach Hoiberg to be more adamant about their shot selection, and more importantly, who’s taking those shots.
  9. He does things where you go, “is this guy and NBA guy?” Then he turns around the next night and makes you go, “could this guy play NAIA?”
  10. Absolutely shit shot selection from the very start of the game. JLaw and Gary took our first 5 3’s and you could argue the game was lost right there. Fred got outcoached when Fran went to zone. FH had no answer and, as usual, is unwilling to coach shot selection and define roles.
  11. Well, when we're playing well that's what it is anyways. But to add, our identity is "Team." When we're good, it's 5 guys working as one Offensively and Defensively. Even the wild KT shots come in rhythm, off of KT action.
  12. I would say it is pretty unlikely he’s not the head coach next year.
  13. They just gotta keep playing free and wild 2nd half. Can’t try to slow it down or whatever. Play to win, not to not lose. If we take the foot off the gas they will creep back so fast.
