Isn’t he still on the bench during games? And even if he can’t coach on the floor during games, I’d venture to guess he is primarily responsible for putting the defensive game plan together.

Wishful thinking…but if he can’t return timely does Trey stick it out for another year…maybe with Bryce? I don’t know that Bryce right now is a guaranteed first rounder.

Why is it that hard to recruit here? I get it that our history is abysmal but do recruits really care that Nebraska has yet to win a tourney game? I mean in todays day and age it seems as if facilities, coaching style, NBA prospects, NIL deals etc…is more important. All you have to do is look at the teams within the region that arguably have far less resources and yet somehow they get it done. They may not be consistent but I think all of us at this point would kill to have a few seasons like KSU/ISU have had over the last decade. Hell, look at Creighton…why in the world is it easier to recruit there?

Call me fair weather but that’s where I’m at…I won’t attend another football/basketball game with the current conditions of the programs. Arguably the worst football/basketball P5 combo in the nation. At this point I’d much rather just watch from the friendly confines of my basement. We really don’t have much of a voice…the only voice we do have as fans is an empty arena/stadium.

Honestly, I think we had that in Cam Mack year 1 but like too many of the recruits he was a serious head case. Perhaps this team will gel and improve as the year goes on but I think we again severely overestimated the amount of talent on the roster. This is not a well put together team and to make matters worse. In the past, even with little offensive talent we would D up. This team can’t even defend.

I seriously doubt Trev is going to fire Hoiberg after this year. I’m sure he wants nothing to do with having to hire a basketball coach at this time. They didn’t even fire a football coach that has had 4 bowl-less seasons. The supposed flagship program of the athletic department.

That would be the majority of the team. There are no building blocks for the future. That’s the issue. Bryce is not coming back. Hoiberg needed to get it done this year and it looks like we are well on our way to another 10-22 type year.

Between Hoiberg and Frost….woof, hard to pinpoint who the biggest bust has been. Basketball teams best chance was this year to do something. Now not sure this team is capable of winning 10 games. Next year the roster turns over again.

Any word on Trey? Not on the bench.
