I’m not sure, but I went back and watched some of his tape and he’s a different level of athlete than Drago is. Not sure how good of a basketball player he is right now but for sure looks more bouncy. Drago hasn’t panned out. He’s still young but if he doesn’t make a big leap I would not be surprised if he’s encouraged to move on at years end.

-Nice to see Trey have a good half. We are going to need him to be more offensive. -Thor finally hit some shots. Hopefully that gets him going. -Lat does nothing for us if he’s not getting shots -Drago, still young but he doesn’t appear to be a Big Ten player. Not even sure if he’s a mid major quality big at this point.

Not a surprising outcome.....obviously have to cut down on the turnovers. This team with all the newcomers could have really used a regular non con this season. We are getting nothing out of the 4/5. I don’t see that changing this year. Can’t win in the Big Ten without a big man.

He had 1 last I checked but he’s probably the last player I’d throw under the bus. We have a “center” who is shooting under 30% from the field.

For sure interested in seeing what Andre or Walker brings to the table. We have to find an upgrade over Drago.

Drago makes me long for Shang Ping

Whether you like it or not, this is essentially year 1 of Hoiberg. It was a complete rebuild. Miles did not leave him with much, the players that were left over did not garner any high major attention when they transferred. That should tell you something. We have some talent on this roster that we can look forward to. Banton is a very good player and just a sophomore. We have a 5 star signed in this class. Yes, we need a big man(I dont Think Yvan is it). But let’s see what Walker and Andre brings. Brad Underwood went 14-18 and 12-21 his first two years at Illinois. I’m not saying our trajectory is that we are going to be a top ten team in two years but it’s going to take some time and development. We are going to take our lumps again this year because the Big Ten is damn good. But I think we will continue to get better as a program under Hoiberg.

Yeah I 100% agree we need more shooters. If Banton could develop an outside shot man that would be great. I also don’t think Stevenson is that guy. But all of the other guys at the very least offer the threat to taking someone off the bounce and getting to the rim. Thor not so much. He will get hot at some point hopefully. We know he’s a better offensive player than what he’s showing right now.

Thor has 5 made FG in 131 minutes of action right now. He’s shooting 20% from the field. He hasn’t even attempted a FT. Sorry, but he’s a black hole on the offensive end right now. Im sure Hoiberg is not wanting to kill his confidence even more which is fine but we need last years Thor to show up sooner rather than later.

I mean, coming in to this game it wasn’t close to a wash if you actually look at the stats. Stevenson has been more productive in less minutes. I’m not hating on Thor but he has not been good this year. I think he will eventually find his shot but until then I’d like to see Stevenson taking more of his minutes.

I mean I don’t know if Stevenson is the answer but Thor is not effective right now. We need him to be an outside threat and right now he’s not. Not bagging on him because he’s obviously in a funk. But Stevenson is more of a Big Ten body. We are going to need his physical presence In conference play IMO.

Coming in to this game, Stevenson was shooting over 60% from the floor. Thor? 20%. He also averaged more rebounds per game while playing less minutes than Thor. On top of that, he is a better defender as well. If you look at the metrics, and yes it’s a small sample size...Thor has easily been the worst player on the floor for Nebraska this year. It’s not for a lack of effort but if he’s not hitting shots we would be better off with Stevenson on the court.

Perhaps Walker or Andre will be that guy but If not we need to find a big man ASAP Outside of Iowa we probably won’t be seeing much more zone this year. We played right in to Ga Tech’s hands settling for long jumpers. Until we may teams pay for it it’s going to be tough sledding on offensive with how we shoot.

Coming in to this game Allen averaged double the amount of rebounds per game so that doesn’t add. Thor played better in the second half...atleast defensively. But, if he’s not producing on the offensive end I’d rather see Stevenson out there.

It’s not a disaster because win or loss we were going to get destroyed in the Big Ten. Big Ten is easily the best league this year and we are still a big man and a few shooters away from contending.

Another game we really had no business losing. We need a big guy in the worst way. Also, Stevenson should be taking as many minutes as possible away from Thor.
