Seemed to be onto something a few years ago

Yup took a couple years to get it rolling at South Dakota but he turned them into something. Like you said the intriguing thing is he already knows what the challenges are here and has went out and won at other locations. He also brought in two guys at South Dakota from Nebraska that are at the very least good roll players if they were at Nebraska. So he recruits the state already

Who was he credited for getting here? Was he involved w Watson marrow and Jacobsen?

My biggest question about smith would be his recruiting abilities

Pretty good odds we are gonna have an open spot for him. New coach or old coach we better not be leaving roster spots open from year to year anymore

Might be all we can get? Or an assistant with no previous coaching experience like scheyer

One coach compared him to Matt hill in a video I was watching earlier today

I was basing my comment off the coach thread where hoiberg is brought up a lot. I’m not sure if he would be a home run hire or not. He would get the state pretty jazzed up along with the media though. My ideal candidate is Thad matta but after doing some research I don’t think he ends up being an option

Wondering what some of your guys expectations are for the program going forward? It looks like the miles era has a few weeks left to it only. So weather we hit a home run with a guy like hoiberg or go mid major w a guy like Craig Smith what do you see as a measuring point for the program? I think we should be in the range of an 18 win team( 8 outa conference wins and ten in conference wins every year ) that has a chance to go to the NIT every year and to go to the big dance every 2-3 years.

If we get down our “list” that far We better be going Craig Smith before we go w a recent assistant from the blue school

We will not have another player in the rest of my lifetime that is as frustrating to watch as he is. I know he’s not a center but basketball is positionless these days. Just play the game dude

Talent on the floor could get worse but with the right coach the product could be much better

Gosh I just feel sorry for our guys. Same thing every night out there. Offense is all hard shots. No post looks. No back door cuts. No passes to the rollers. Just pound the rock into the floor then break the backboard

Very skeptical that we would find a big man that’s ready to play but I would agree that’s a roster that can compete with a capable big man. IMO we are a big man away from being a 20 win team annually. We just don’t have one nor do we have one on the horizon

I don’t know why anyone would block or ignore people on a public and free message board. They are for viewing other people’s opinions. I don’t have to agree with what your saying. Heck I’m the 3 or 4 guy that can’t comprehend or grasp what your saying, n I feel like the ones before me have more brain cells then I do.
