This season.

Nothing different about next year than the last 3, other than no credible hope we’ll make the postseason. Every starting spot has been up each year. Why would we get quality transfers? We don’t win any games. We finish last. Attendance has been cut in half. All the sudden we’re gonna try hard? Not F around in warmups? Come out hard to guard a 3? Head coach is going to personally recruit? Hope Fred can change, but that’s a heck of a leap of faith. A staff overhaul would help, but I’m not sure who will want to climb on board this sinking ship. (Wouldn’t have thought football could have hired who they did, so who knows).

Fair questions. All I know is that after the Purdue game, Frost had 24 hours to come up with a detailed plan for what he would do to change things if given the chance. Frost was initially incredulous, but actually came up with a plan that impressed Trev. The staff changes happened soon thereafter. I can’t imagine Trev and Fred haven’t had similar conversations. I don’t know, but believe, that Fred at least came up with enough concrete plans and a willingness to make some major changes, that Trev decided to give it a chance (coupled with the contract changes). Had Fred just said “pay me what you owe me, and let me coach”, I’m comfortable Trev would have sent him packing. So yes, I think coach laid out a vision for the future. Hope it works, although I am obviously skeptical that it will.

Could be true. But with the one free transfer these days, I’m not sure you’d have much roster stability next year either. Trev obviously felt the money savings made this the right thing to do. We’ll find out soon whether staff changes occur (will be surprised if anyone other than Loenser stays), or if Fred committed to changes his roster construction, recruiting approach, accountability etc. Frost had to have a detailed plan, and I assume Fred did. It better be more than a small pay cut and let’s hope a couple guys come back and some recruits can contribute right away.

Short term thinking. It’s one year. We’ll be in the same boat next year

Recruit magic. Been listening to that for 3 years on here. Worst power 6 team in the country. Every facet of the program is terrible. Staff, culture, players. But carry on, enjoy.

We’re gonna be building it again this April. Massive turnover again. New guys aren’t gonna come in and win in this league.

Great news? You gotta be kidding me. I got no problem with the sentiment of still supporting the team, but to call this good news is ludicrous. 2-30. 6-49. Last place every year. Man, do our fans have low standards.

Good luck. This system can’t and won’t work in this league. And we’ll have massive roster turnover again and these new guys aren’t gonna come in and win in this league. And if Matt A. Comes back (can’t imagine he will), the disaster will continue.

We’ll, you got your wish. We’ll be awful again next year and then it will be over. But no one, absolutely no one, will be able to say this guy didn’t get a full chance.

I’ll renew mine also cause that’s what we’ve done for 44 years. So Norm isn’t getting my lower bowl aisle seats.

Has nothing to do with Frost. Different situation. Let Fred stand on the merits. If you think he deserves to stay based on anything he's done or you think he can do, fine. You probably don't know all that went into Frost getting another year (I do). Doubt that Fred would be willing to do what that took. Plus Fred's situation is way worse. Apples to oranges. Getting tired of people using that as a reason to keep Fred.

Upvotes for anything Seger. Been to 2 Seger concerts, 35 years apart. Great stuff. Iowa game? Not so much. Gonna be ugly.
