  1. Over/under on Howard’s firing at Michigan: 14 hours
  2. Damn, I like those names. Gonna like one of them in about a half hour.
  3. A little surprised the coaches valued Perkins as high as they did, and Ware as low as they did. But suspect they know more about it then me, because, well, they're coaches.
  4. Also, it would be awesome if someone who has more time than me watch the replay and counted the number of times Kesei hit the floor. Has to be a really high number, perhaps an all-time record.
  5. Innocuous question, but does anyone know why Boogie didn't get in at garbage time?
  6. No beer sales. But that game was fun. At GCU, they have a student say a prayer over the PA system before the National Anthem. Not sure the GCU players were listening.
  7. Today the crowd was about 80% Red. I thought Childress pulled a Clark too quickly, when GCU had a bunch of lefties in the lineup. It was obvious Timmerman didn’t have it today from the get go. Basically GCU gave it to us with walks, hit batters and really bad defense. Props to Worthley for 3 shutout innings after we imploded. They were duly a bunch of pricks. No handshake line after the game, and the Umps stayed on the field. I hadn’t seen anything like the last 2 games since the NU-Texas games at Buck Beltzer with Van Horn and Augie.
  8. I missed the start if it as we were walking up the aisle. I turned and there was a lot of yelling and gesturing. Never saw any actual physical contact but it was as close to a fight as I’ve seen in college baseball. Either Sirianni or Harvel was jawing with a GCU coach well after the teams were separated. GCU was animated all night with some over the top celebrations. The pitcher for 14 for GCU was the worst. Did a lot of woofing, and had to be stopped by the ump several times for starting his windup with the batter not yet set in the box. Should be an intense game tomorrow.
  9. Another fun game. We sat right in front of Tyler Stone’s family and local fan club. They were rightly all fired up.
  10. Oh yeah, we enjoyed it! Place was about 70% Husker fans. Looking forward to the next 3
  11. Good post Norm. Another example of success begets success should be NIL fundraising. And I expect that to be quite helpful in portal talent acquisition.
  12. Interesting observation. I was going to mention that she flat-lined on the stat sheet. In 20 minutes, 0 points and 0 rebounds (and 1 assist, 2 turnovers). But you were there, I wasn't, and I trust your judgment.
  13. Love was also named in the suit.
  14. Love was included as a defendant in the lawsuit.
  15. I realize that it takes some gumption to be a longtime Husker hoops fan, but perhaps only here can we be buoyed by seeing a guy walk almost normally.
  16. Gophers squarely in the hunt for a bid. Our game with them in Lincoln could be very important....and it won't be easy. Payne and Garcia will be a challenge.
  17. Have to get a big in the portal. He'll still be a project.
  18. Been to 92, Cip. Somehow in all my trips West I've missed Banner County.
  19. I usually think it's about the athletes, and it mainly is and that had a lot to do with tonight.....but it did look like we've never schemed a press break, and never practiced one.
  20. Props to Allick for bouncing back from a really bad performance at NW. He was really good yesterday and it made a big difference.
  21. 2020 census it was just over 64,000. Amazing. OK, I will stop hijacking the thread.
  22. Good history, Handy. The numbering reflected the number of registered vehicles in a county in 1922. Seeing the changes over the next hundred years in the counties is fascinating (well, if you're a Nebraska history nerd like me). While most of the top 10 have stayed roughly the same, there are some outliers. Custer County (Broken Bow) is #4. Gage County (Beatrice), #3, would be double digits now. Saunders County (Wahoo) at #6 would slip. Knox County (Creighton, but County seat is Center) would move way down the list from #12. Many would move up the list, but most prominently Sarpy County as mentioned.
