Im surprised there is this many responses. What amazes me is fans made a lot of excuses for the fb team. There isnt much for this team, which you could easily talk yourself into this year and past years. There isnt much hope but you can talk yourself into next year which is it worth it at this point to continue?

To identify highly "ranked" talent, build relationships, hope they commit now or in the few years when they xfer, then hope somewhi Fred can mold and develop them to fit in the system.

But when you arent successful you look at the instate guys having success elsewhere so Mike J's tweet is moot IMO.

I think baseball is a little different when it comes to that. At least the focus is there. There are fewer options in bball to get. Bball has tried to recruit to an extent, but for the higher ranked players, you can't fault them for choosing better programs with better results. You eventuall need to win with what you have then it makes it easier for local kids to want to stay.

Please spare me the latest hot and up-and-coming coach. Whoever that is, he ain't coming here. It was a miracle we got Fred. Fire him after 3 or 4 years and the already small pool shrinks even further. That take is defeatist and a loser memtality. As I've said before this program has money, fan support, facilities, and others to attract a coach. You never know who you can get if you dont ask. No one thought we were going to get FH or thought he would come. There will always be someone who is willing to take what is offered and as a competitor prove they can win here.

I feel like no one, either fans or teammates, wants to admit or say it but it feels like a certain high star player has this attitute. Maybe Im wrong but you never hear teammates other then "relatives" talk about said player.

He's not starting here and I dont think Walker comes back. Andre can xfer to a lower level if he wants. Then your stuck with Ola and Keita both who havent played at this level. I assume Ola is a downgrade from where Andre is. This team needs more size and a true pg and not so many wings. Then you have an issue of recruiting and staffing. Do you keep your assistants? What good is Nate and Armon now if they don't recruit. Feel bad for Armon who has settled in his to not recruit. Hard to get another higher level job without those connections over the past few years.

I dont see why Wilhelm shouldnt be strictly at the 4 if everyone of the bigs come back. Andre is a 5 and nothing else.

Well there are plenty of players that come from winning cultures and teams. A good coach will find that.

You cant think that way though. Would it be nice to hold onto him? Sure. But they arent winning with the guys on the roster so they can sure lose without them. Whoever the coach is needs players to compete in this conference. If a change is made then you hope the new coach does whats best for the program. Its not like Andre is a world beater. I feel he has regressed since last year.

Sip this morning said its hard to brimg a coach back that goes 0-20 or 2-18. He said is buyout only goes down about $3M a year so at that point if things stay bad, are you really losing much? Also said Andre was very close to leaving last year which is interesting.

I wouldnt read much into Keon. He did start for some reason and didnt produce. May have been better with a redshirt. With 13 schlorships, and 14 or 15 this year cause of covid,its hard to get minutes. 8-9 man rotation is ideal and he is buried by many other wings.
