Some good news on Huskers.com. They mention Haiby and Weidner were with the team, when they left this morning. I'm not sure if they will play or not. Guess we'll know Friday.
-
Team flight to Puerto Rico leaves at 4:15 tomorrow morning. Hoping they find their groove in San Juan.

Good to see Maggie Mendelson watching the game from the bench.
-
Any mention of Weidner injury? Looked like she got hit in the eye?

The Big Red will battle Texas A&M Corpus Christi (Nov. 25) and Mississippi State (Nov. 26) at the Puerto Rico Clasico, before embarking on an East Coast swing that includes an ACC/Big Ten Challenge match-up at No. 11 Virginia Tech (Dec. 1) and a Big Ten clash with No. 14 Maryland (Dec. 4). In a rare occurrence, Nebraska plans to wear red uniforms at home on Tuesday, primarily because of complications caused by its upcoming Thanksgiving travel plans.

March is a long ways off. We stumbled against two very good teams. I'm more annoyed, after Tarleton (B1G+), you'll need Flosports(2) or the ACC streaming service (1), to see the next 3 games.

Brady and Dillard have taken up valuable scholarships for the past few years. I appreciate loyalty, and having players backs, but this doesn't come off as sound roster management. Not much bang for the buck.
-
5 of 24 from three range won't cut it. Last year, we hit 12 threes (12/29). That's another 21 points. Drake also had 27 turnovers last year. Hope it was just one bad game. But to your point, better offense and defense would have won this game. Hoping this was just one bad outing.
-
Agree, newcomers not contributing much (yet?). Well coached teams, do seem to expose our defensive deficiencies. Nothing new. If we can find our shooting touch, we should be competitive. Middle of the conference pack? Not sure how much help Sam and MM will be. Sam usually plays better as the season goes along. Shortened season won't help. And Maggie? The young lady could be participating in her senior year of high school. Heck of a jump, to B1G competition. Regardless, fingers crossed.

I too wonder about Izzie. Only 7 minutes. Jazz seems to be struggling, offense and defense. Time for a 2nd half turnaround.

Creighton has owned us for awhile. I doubt any team goals were derailed last night. With regard to team defense, we miss some departed players. Ruby, Scoggin, Cayton, and even Brown brought needed energy to the floor. Bella was a stud. Others need to step up. When Sam returns, and MM joins the team, that should help. Like most years, buckle up. BBall seasons are unique roller coaster rides.

You might get a discount ($12.50 monthly rate), through this Creighton discount link. It looks available to anyone, but could be wrong. https://flosports.link/3yyHbcn

Radio for me too. I think there is a lesser monthly plan @ $12.50 a month. Still too much of a hastle. GBR

Agree. I think Weidner has caught up to Jazz. I really like how she drives to the bucket and crashes offensive boards. Questionable competition, but Izzie and Markowski are feasting down low. Also liked the way we made the mid range shots. We don't have to live by the "3". Do you think Brady/Krull will get first shot on Jensen? Maly by committee? (Brady, Krull, Coley, Stewart, Moriarty?) I hope we approach "D", intent on helping Markowski and Izzie avoid foul trouble. We will need big minutes from them. It won't be easy, but should be good prep for the B1G.
-
I think the student announcers turned their mikes off during a time out, and forgot to turn them back on. Didn't affect watching the game any. Curious if they will figure it out before the 2nd half starts. I like the effort the Huskers are getting from the bench, Coley and Moriarty in particular. Looking for Krull to warm up this half.

I don't disagree. We lost Cravens (big loss) and Tatiana Pope (another roster spot). Not sure what our scholarship numbers are, but you would think there was room for another body. Having room, and finding a good fit, probably easier said, then done. Throw in the Covid year, not sure we lose anyone this year (other than Sam). We need to have room for some new recruits or transfers. Roster management probably turns hair gray. Not an easy task.

33- 9 third quarter.

Nice half. Good team effort. I'm surprised Shelley only has 2 rebounds. Seemed like she got several in a row, early in the game. Trinity looks healthy. She provided excellent help defense. Izzie, Weidner, Markowski, Jazz, all in good form. That was fun.

Allick was the 6th rated player in the 2022 class (also rated the number 1 middle blocker). Mendelson reclassified late to this class. She might still be 17 years old, not sure. It was her choice, to play both sports. If not allowed to play volleyball, she would be wearing some other schools jersey.

I agree with much of what you say, but, it won't be hard for me, to not cheer for them. This isn't an 'across the board, hate Iowa' thing'. I'm not a fan of this Iowa WBB team. And yes, Clark is a big part of that. FWIW, I enjoy watching the 'clones WBB team play.

As Whoopdeedoo mentioned, I too wonder why surgery didn't take place until late last week.
