First thing, I've enjoyed this season. Compared to most everything else Husker, WBB more than holds their own. Regarding comparing this year to last? Not sure any season can be compared to the Covid year. Using words like "outstanding" and "great" in some of these posts has me a bit stumped. We started non-conference with a 11 - 0 record. Understandable. The SOS was rated 165th. But, we are 8-7 since. (I think) Again, understandable. The B1G is tough. We are having a good year. But, I think the superlatives should be reserved for truly "outstanding" or "great" performances and seasons. Just my 2 cents.

We had 5 players play 30 minutes or more. Penn State had 2. We weren't the fresher team at the end. We held a decent lead, most of the game. There was plenty of time to give kids a breather. Fatigue leads to all the things you mentioned. In truth, the suspect passing and inability to handle pressure are recurring issues (for years). The Whitish years, we attributed it to a lack of guards. Not sure numbers are the problem any more. Still, we are having a good year. Probability of being in the 'Big Dance' is high. Recruiting is on the rise. The sky is not falling. That doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement. With success, comes expectations. That's what make forums like this one, entertaining.

Moriarty played one minute, Coley none. We gave up 83 points and a couple of our better defenders watched. Also short a player (Scoggin). We seemed to be running on vapors towards the end. I agree with Redhac. Coaches should look in the mirror regarding this "L". Once again, it becomes apparent why we aren't rated higher. That doesn't mean we aren't a good team. Just shows, not much room for error at this level.

You seem inclined to criticize other posters. OK, this is a free forum. By the way, who is this "Weirder" you reference? If Allison, your variation of her name seems a bit negative.

I like Coach splitting the minutes. The one thing I question is timing of the substitutions. I wish she would play the hot hand more. She pulled Weidner early, when she had just rattled off 6 quick points. She hadn't been in long, didn't appear to be sucking wind. Same thing late. Sam went on a tear for a couple of minutes, and was substituted for. She did come back in shortly, and luckily still had her drive game going. Maybe she needed a blow? Looked like she was on a roll. In reality, nothing to whine about. The girls played great. Coaches had them ready to go. Well done!!

Bella played with great effort. Not intimidated in the least. The entire team played aggressively. Well done ladies. That was fun!!
-
Makes no sense. Hope we don't create another Leigha Brown situation. Good thing she bleeds Husker Red.

I did receive a call from OWH, offering a reduced rate. Unfortunately, it was for the print/digital service, not even the type subscription I had cancelled. Amused me.

I noticed a $1 for 6 month, LJS online edition promotion, if anyone is interested. https://journalstar.com/members/join/

Regarding coverage of our WBB team, I recently subscribed to the electronic version of the Lincoln Journal Star. I am pleased with the attention they give the Lady Huskers. I have to admit, I'm cheap. The OWH recently doubled the rate of their electronic edition, so rather that pay $19+ a month, I paid LJS $49 for a year. I'm glad I did. Excellent article on Markowski today. GBR

I just read through all the posts in this thread. I'm not finding a negative vibe. I don't see a single post calling out a player. I questioned some coaching decisions. Fairly sure that comes with the territory. If you want to see negative, visit the Red Sea Scrolls sometime.

Unless there were issues we're not aware of, questionable game management, for sure.
-
Haiby 34 minutes. Scoggin 26. Weidner 15. Does that make any sense? Unless Allison is under the weather, I don't understand it. And, Ruby had 4 minutes. Her folks were able to attend, prior to heading back to Australia. Could have given the kid a few more minutes. I realize she didn't play great while in, but come on.

Is Coach Williams taking a nap? Put in some fresh bodies. What is with the all '3' shot selection? Run some clock. Someone wake up Amy.
-
Bella and Izzie both playing well. Some of their struggles of late, are probably due to the level of competition. This type half is sure easier on the ticker. Hoping for a 2nd half to match.

I tend to get a little frustrated with turnovers at times. I might be over reacting. I noticed this comment in a game preview at huskers.com. • Nebraska's backcourt has taken care of the ball while creating opportunities. Jaz Shelley (2.1) and Sam Haiby (1.6) rank No. 5 and No. 13, respectively in the Big Ten in assist-to-turnover ratio based on the NCAA minimum of 3.0 assists per game. Husker reserve Ruby Porter (3.1), who does not meet the NCAA minimum, owns Nebraska's best assist-to-turnover ratios (25-8). Ruby sure has been playing well against these top rated teams. Great effort always.

At this stage of the season, I think we have 3 equally talented guards. Lately, Weidner seems to be playing more consistent than the others. It was good to see Jaz pick it up. I also noticed, Weidner and Haiby had equal minutes last night. Coach has options.
-
Agree. We seem to be a 'middle of the pack' team. In this conference, that isn't bad.
-
Other than a 4th quarter or two, not sure she has played up to her normal level since the shoulder injury. Did she miss enough practice to affect her conditioning?
-
Not sure why coach put her in with 3 minutes to go in the half.
-
Good thing Bella and Izzie seem to be playing with more energy.
