  1. well, lead for 30 minutes and then cough it up. sigh. gotta find a way now. crowd back in. the idea of losing this game after leading the whole way makes me physically frigging ill.
  2. IU not quitting. we have got to respond now. we've been hanging so far, but gotta get them cold again.
  3. 8 pt lead. very nice. gotta get the offense a little bit more in synch and we should be okay. and avoid the lousy ticky tack fouls we're picking up.
  4. ray. still ice cold. poor kid.
  5. yeah he carried a little but still....
  6. yes. finally terran. good recovery from the IU run. We look pretty good tonight.
  7. yes!!!!!!!!! pitch came to play big!
  8. yes! pitch hits the first 3! good sign.
  9. thanks for the free tip off, crean.
  10. not to be a jerk, but didn't we have a sizeable thread on this already?
  11. I had a dream that a stripper called me a loser. I think she meant Loosier. So I think it all means we win.
  12. This saddens me and makes me sniffle. IU-72 NU-61
  13. I'd feel bad for the kid and for IU, seeing as they still have something to play for themselves. But before we think this is a real break, remember IU rallied and beat Iowa without him. Can't take anything for granted right now.
  14. The bigger question is what happened to Omaha and, to a lesser extent, Lincoln now that its population is around 200-250k. Some interesting theories out there, some of them pretty controversial. North Omaha used to produce very good players regularly, but they've all but disappeared over the last 20 years. even the burbs, like Bellevue, could produce some quality talent. But it just seems dried up. I'm guessing it's a combination of declining support in poorer school districts (North Omaha) combined with development issues vis a vis suburban schools where hoops might be a 2d or 3rd sport instead of a primary. When South Sioux City seems to be your best breeding ground, you have issues.
  15. one thing helping us is the flight of some tough mid majors into BCS conferences a la the Big East. This cuts down on the number of quality midmajors vying for positions.
  16. I doubt Timmeh would try to run him off now. I'm happy for him. Like Ubel, I felt like a voice in the in the wilderness supporting Benny after his freshman season. I'm glad his value is becoming obvious now. Oh, and he's starting to score, too. Honestly, he's our best point guard right now.
  17. While I still think we could really use a road or neutral court win, Wiscy is looking like a playoff game for us now. Even if we beat Indiana--which don't think we'll do--we'd still need to beat the ButtBadgers to get in. What I don't want is to have to win 2 or 3 tourney games. The odds plunge in that scenario.
  18. Curious why you think that helped us? I was trying to figure out who would be best, and while I found myself pulling for Indiana, I couldn't really figure out a good reason why. Hope you are correct. standings matter. with each spot our resume gains more credibility by riding the credibility of the conference as a whole. that's the theory anyway.
  19. came close to getting a lot of help today. still got a nice assist from Indiana, which is unfortunately our next opponent. always seems to work out that way all of a sudden. getting teams when they're playing better. oh well, this week should be a doozy for the whole conference. lots at stake.
  20. poor PSU. any kind of 3 pt percentage and they probably win.
  21. well, that locks up the NIT. that's good. 3 chances to win 2 now.
