2021 SG Keisei Tominaga - Juco - LOI
khoock replied to uneblinstu's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
No but im sure seniors Derrick Walker and Shamiel Stevenson and juniors Yvan Ouedraogo, Kevin Cross, and Dalano Banton OR someone we get with the other two to three scholarships from that class will be able to -
Understandable. Life is bigger than sports. Hopefully he gets things straightened out and is able to start playing ball again, if he wants to do so.
-
Hopefully Donovan is patient enough to realize that after his freshman year he will have all the playing time he could want (as long as he has the game to back it up) as Thor, Jervay, and Dachon will all be graduated. Maybe hooping for his home city and possibly making history here will be worth one year of riding the pine. Also, who knows, maybe Donovan is talented enough to warrant playing time as freshman.

2021 SG Keisei Tominaga - Juco - LOI
khoock replied to uneblinstu's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Hes in his freshman year of JUCO. Averaging 15 ppg and shooting over 50% from deep. All the articles I have read list him as 2021. No idea on if he is able to qualify for 2020 or not. -

Leaves us with one open scholarship for 2020 and two or three (depending if we add a 2020 kid or transfer) for 2021. -

He is 2021 btw not 2020 -
So we beat the 6th and 4th place team and lost to the 1st place team. Much better showing than i expected!

OT: Anybody know what happened to Logan Strom from Norfolk? Last I heard, he had transfered from UC Davis to UNO and was sitting out last year per transfer rules. I went to a UNO game expecting to see him play. When I didnt, I checked online and hes not even listed on the roster.

Next year does look very interesting on paper. Backcourt: Cam Mack, Dachon Burke, Jervay Green, Samari Curtis, Donovan Williams Wings: Dalano Banton, Shamiel Stevenson, Thorir Thorbjarnarson Frontcourt: Kevin Cross, Yvan Ouedraogo, Derrick Walker, Akol Arop Dont forget Fred typically only plays a 7-8 man rotation. -

Did not expect us to win this game. Kinda thought USF would win somewhat easily. Not pleased with all of the results this season but i am pleased with this teams progress and growth so far. GBR -

Wonder why Cam is not starting? If he is not playing at all, Samari will get a chance to shine! -

Kind of astounding how poor of a shooting team we are considering expectations. - Matej Kavas was suppose to be an elite shooter - Jervay Green and Haanif Cheatham were suppose to be good shooters - Dachon Burke, Kevin Cross, and Samari Curtis were all suppose to be adequate On paper, thats a good shooting team. For whatever reason we havent met those expectations. As for free throw shooting, I have no comments. -
Shamiel Appeal Denied. The NCAA killed Kenny.

Sad to to think that by seasons end, Shamiel Stevenson will have been in college for three years and only played one full season plus four additional games... while being completely healthy -

I believe he has to redshirt an entire year at his new school. And since he didnt enroll at Nebraska until summer, that half of season he sat out last spring doesnt count as part of his redshirt? Thats the only way I can understand why he cant play in December if the staff wants him to. For example, Copeland enrolled in Nebraska during the spring semester so he would have been eligible mid year because he sat out at Nebraska in the spring and the fall (had he not gotten his waiver for immediate eligibility). Am I understanding this correctly? -

1. Who else would you play? We only have 10 scholarship guys, four of which already play close to thirty or more minutes most nights. 2. Thor has a real positive impact on the game. You just gotta be able to look beyond box score stats 3. Agree with your take on FT shooting and rebounding help -

Atleast we know rebounding help is already on the team. -

First mediocre team we have played. Just remember we got a LONG ways to go. Dont let wins over crappy teams fool you. Hell the losses to crappy teams tells you all you need to know. Just enjoy the ride. -

On a different thread, someone said they did not see Akol Arop on the bench with the team. Can anyone confirm or deny that? -

Seems telling to me that our guards were in foul trouble a lot of the game and Samari Curtis saw a whole two minutes of action. If hes as talented offensively as some think he must be really behind defensively or mentally. Or maybe hes injured? -

I would take Virginia dude over Kavas. If Allen/Thomas are the same caliber of players as Ouedraogo/Cross obv im taking our guys bc they are just as good and younger. Im happy with our team. I think we are laying a foundation to be make significant jumps in years two and three. -

We are finally starting to see this team take shape and rolls be given out. We have a very balanced scoring load so far. Mack, Green, Cheatham, Burke, and Cross can get you double digits any given night. Thor is the glue guy and Yvan is the "enforcer" down low (or atleast will be in the future). If Stevenson plays this year you gotta assume he takes Kavas' spot. And that gives you your 8 man rotation for the season. -

George Mason tomorrow and USF or New Mexico St on Turkey Day. It will be nice to see us against some mediocre to above average competition. I think this team has a couple of dogs on it who are made for the bright lights and big time. I expect a good showing a couple of our guys these next two games.
