  1. It's not where you start it's where you finish.
  2. Brent Wagner has a good article in the Lincoln Journal this morning on Maddie.
  3. Anybody have any idea when that will begin? Looking forward to it.
  4. Two big keys for sure!
  5. I just think it will be hard to keep Maddie out of the starting lineup. I think she is one of the hardest working players, very athletic and has a tremendous will to succeed. I agree that everyone will get plenty of opportunities and hopefully several will rise to the top as starters or get a lot of minutes off the bench. Competition will be good but with only 11 players eligible we need to stay healthy.
  6. Due to an extremely limited discussion happening on our WBB team to get a discussion going I am predicting the following starting lineup for the game 3 weeks from today. Emily Wood, Jasmine Cincore, Maddie Simon, Allie Havers and Jess Shephard. A lot of others will play. What do you think.
  7. Thanks Row6 for the heads up. I am looking forward to getting one as it looks chocked full of information. This will be good since we don't get much information from the sports pages of the newspapers.
  8. I looked at this on online a few days ago and have been trying to get a hard copy. After calling various places to no avail I found out that they haven't been printed yet but will be available soon at The Nebraska Fan Shop located in PBA.
  9. Sure is more fun to be optimistic then pessimistic. GBR
  10. There were numerous games last year that we lost where the other team knew that basically Romeo was about our only 3 point threat and defensed her pretty well. As for who will pick up that slack I think there will be several. Pick from freshman Jensen, Whitish, Mitchell or Eliely. Soph Simon or Junior Wood. Although inexperienced all come in with high shooting percentages from the 3 point line. We just need several to step up.
  11. The 3 point shooting should be better this year. May not have any body as good as Romeo but we will have more contributors then last year. This will help in keeping the opposing guards from collapsing the middle.
  12. I agree but we need to stay healthy at the position this year. In future years we will be fine.
  13. Already down to 11 healthy players that are eligible this year. Darien Washington will obviously get more playing time. Hope she's ready. All three remaining bigs need to stay healthy. Grace M. can take it to the hoop as well as shoot outside but the big ten has a lot of bruisers inside that love physical play. Should be interesting.
  14. Yep, life is good at this time. WBB is just around the corner. Football team undefeated and ranked 15th. VB team continues to amaze us as the nations best team. Looking forward to a lot more articles in the papers once WBB practice starts.
  15. I have went to a couple of games per year in the past and really enjoyed them. Can't beat $3 for seniors in general admission. Took the big step and bought a couple of season tickets for the first time. Won't be able to go to all the home games but felt this was a good way to support the program. Plus you can still get pretty good reserved seats. I travel a lot so BTN TO GO & BTN PLUS are a great way to follow them as well. GBR
  16. The exciting thing to me is the fresh start everyone will be given. If you want playing time you will be able to earn it.
  17. We have to beat Iowa every time we play them. That's true in every sport. As for added scoring punch I think some one will step up or better yet we will have consistent contributions from the team as a whole from game to game. Better bench scoring would help in that respect.
  18. Bria Stallworth was announced right away so she must have been enrolled in summer classes. Good to know the rule.
  19. Who knows. Just glad to see it's official and there was no complications. We just need to get a great post for 2017 and we should be in pretty good shape going forward.
  20. Alas Fastbreaker I guess you are right. For example: BREAKING NEWS ...Sportscaster Dinardo from the Big Ten comes in for a day, observes one practice and declares N/U is not in a position to challenge for a division football title. Who the hell cares what he thinks. If that's headline news we have really sunk to a new low.
  21. Even if the media doesn't pick the story up I still don't understand why she isn't listed on the roster. B. Stallworth was listed immediately.
  22. 14 days since this news about Janay came out on this forum. I've seen no confirmation or articles in the OWH, LJS OR HUSKERS.COM. She isn't listed on the roster. Is there a problem or have I missed something.
  23. A couple of years ago the rules were changed on when practice could start for WBB. You could start practice 42 days before your first regularly scheduled ballgame. You could have 30 practices during that 6 week time period. If that rule still applies that means we could start practice on 10/1/2016.
  24. On another slant to the transfer news on Janay, I haven't seen anything on it in the OWH ,LJS or Huskers.Com. I'm tired of reading too many articles about Terran Pettaway and would hope the writers would give us better coverage on WBB. This has been kind of an on going bitch of mine. Again as noted before thank goodness for this forum.
  25. Janay has basically been a three year starter at Eastern MIchigan after graduating from High School in 2013. So this coming season would be her red shirt year due to the transfer. Eastern Michigan had a coaching change this past May hiring Fred Castro who had been an assistant coach at the Univ. of Wash. for the previous 3 years.
