  1. When I clicked on the links in my posts, it would take me to the tweets, so the links worked. For some reason, things were posting as links rather than tweets even though I wasn't pasting the link any differently than usual. This morning, it just worked again. Don't know what happened that it didn't. I'll test it again here ... Matt Abdelmassih on Twitter: " 20/21 Squad #GBR #Nebrasketball https://t.co/zCLQKPq4DA" / Twitter
  2. Besides, they only had 280 characters.
  3. Well, that's just, like, y'know, your opinion, man.
  4. It really speaks volumes when Coach Fred would rather play a skinny 6'9 kid out of position at the post rather than the incumbent starter at that spot. All the more reason to feel pretty confident in taking a flier on Walker.
  5. Compare ... 6'9 PG good passer, effective driver, but 26.1% from three 6'4 SG solid defender, streaky shooter, hitting 40% from three on limited attempts but will go 0-3 one game and 3-3 the next 6'6 SF volume shooter, not very efficient from beyond the arc at 31.4%, not overwhelming athleticism, but somehow gets it done 6'6 SF does lots of little things but currently struggling from beyond the arc at 27.8% 6'9 C rail-thin stretch 4 with good perimeter accuracy at 36.7% playing out-of-position at the 5 with ... 6'9 PG good passer, effective driver, but 26.1% from three 6'4 SG solid defender, streaky shooter, hitting 40% from three on limited attempts but will go 0-3 one game and 3-3 the next 6'6 SF volume shooter, not very efficient from beyond the arc at 31.4%, not overwhelming athleticism, but somehow gets it done 6'9 PF rail-thin stretch 4 with good perimeter accuracy at 36.7% backed up by a >40% career 3-pt sniper 6'10 C shot-blocking rim runner with nearly 7 1/2 foot wingspan and decent hands for catching and flushing dump-down passes into the low post IF (and it's admittedly a big "if" until we see him in live action) Eduardo can be that shot-blocking rim runner described above, it doesn't seem like a stretch to say it makes us a better, more potent offensive team when we can then move a guy to the 4 position who is long and more or less deadly from deep.
  6. Looks like the juco experiment has ended.
  7. In past years, we've had 6 or 7 4-stars and maybe top 25 class. This year, we have two 4-stars and right now a top 20 class. That ranking is going to plummet as top-rated hold-out players sign through the late signing period.
  8. I think the only reason they reduced Walker's suspension to 11 games was to save us the potential embarrassment of losing to a team like NWU as we try to get Walker eligible sooner. Right, @HB?
  9. Banton would be well advised to make that jumper a thing. Take this year, come back and prove it next year, and be a high draft pick in the summer of 2022. But the jumper has to get there.
  10. Bias can be found not simply in what one writes but also in what one chooses to write about.
  11. OK, while I have defended Yvan, I don't do it with blinders on, as though I'm unaware of his limitations. He brings a lot to the table. A positive attitude and coachability are probably two of his positive attributes that we don't necessarily directly observe but that appear to be the case based on other things we see from him. Also, he's strong as an ox. Even after he dropped weight, he's still a load to push around on the defensive end. He holds his position pretty well. I think he's a LOT quicker this year than he was a year ago (just look at some of last year's highlights and it'll stand out.) But where he was limited a year ago remains a problem for him this year. He still has rock-hard hands. He still has trouble getting shots off in congested space near the rim. And, with his broad shoulders and heft, you'd expect he'd be able to clear some room, but he's very limited with the ball in his hands. I've seen highlight video of Walker from high school. I cannot imagine that he's less skilled now than he was then. Or less athletic. Or less anything related to basketball. And he was a pretty decent player in high school, which is why he got recruited to a place like Tennessee. So, if you were to ask me to choose between what I see in front of my eyes and what's behind Door #2, and what I know about what's behind Door #2 is what I know about Walker, I'm going to choose Door #2 and feel pretty confident about it. Won't you?
  12. OK, well, for whatever reason, this time it worked.
  13. I think I've been doing it the same way I've always done it, which, in the past, resulted in the tweet being displayed as a tweet. I'll try to look at any pop-up messages more carefully.
  14. And they have Wilhelm Breidenbach going in the 2nd round, 50th overall.
  15. That seems about right. You could switch 4s and maybe 5s. But, basically, yes.
  16. What am I doing wrong the the tweets I post only show up looking like links instead of tweets?
  17. Plot twist? Jon Rothstein on Twitter: "Sources: All Non D-1 transfers will have to still file for waivers seeking immediate eligibility for this season. They are not covered by the NCAA's blanket transfer waiver." / Twitter
  18. Signed today? And, according to Rivals, this is a top 20 class. And my only question is how? They have two 4-star players total. That's it. HuskerOnline (rivals.com)
  19. This if effin huge. Not that Lakes is like the second coming of Eric Piatkowski or anything. But because of what his skillset will do for other players on the team. And that includes pushing Lat. The best stretch 4 will start. And the best news is we get him back again next year.
  20. trevor lakes on Twitter: "https://t.co/HkubrlSzY4" / Twitter
  21. Has Doane ever played on TV before? Anyone know?
  22. We need him.
  23. I like our chances against NWU without Walker better than Michigan without Walker.
  24. If Lat is a 4, then do he and Lakes play the same spot? If he's cleared, would Lakes be competing for PT with Lat and Thor once Walker and Andre are available? And then the 5 would be some rotation of Walker, Andre and Ouedraogo?
