100% we’d be in if the season ended today. We have more Q1 wins than most teams currently thanks to MSU and KSU.
-
If you remember wayyyy back to our team that didn’t dance and then got screwed in NIT selection… Hasla was one of the only metrics that had us “in” and he would almost tweet about us daily. I think he has a built in Huskers boost in that metric lol!

uneblinst's postgame chatter: vol 16; ed 16 - Purdue

Would assume that’s illegal and could probably be shut down at any time. Definitely willing to pay $6 to not have the feed pulled right when Purdue cuts it to two lol! -
Yep— KenPom is just one of multiple different metrics listed on team sheets used by the committee. Theres never been a team with 0 Q1 wins selected as an at large, which is why that Purdue game was so important. All of our other games this year will teeter between Q2 and Q1 outside of probably Wisco at home. Win that one and you’ve almost guaranteed yourself TWO Q1 wins.
-
Provided a huge meltdown, that Minny loss will remain, at minimum, a Q2 loss.
-
Interesting-- I'm not sure that I'd agree, but there is a history of high level KP teams being left out of the tournament. In most instances, the team had 1-2 metrics that were very different than a KP ranking. For instance a Top 40 KP, but a sub 75 RPI or sub 50-60 NET. Should our metrics that I posted earlier today remain pretty much the same. I don't think we'd have a problem getting in. Especially with 3 Q1 wins already in our pocket. I know those could change.

Are you saying if we finish at 35, we’d be on the bubble?

I would assume the team has already left or will soon be leaving? -
I think I saw that that both Wednesday games are on Peacock this year too. So if you want to watch some Wednesday madness… you’ll need it. Unfortunately the Huskers won’t play until the games are on BTN.

All of our metrics really kind of line up this morning for the first time this year HaslaMetrics: 25 (this one always seems to be high on us) RPI: 30 (According to Team Rankings) T-Rank: 39 KenPom: 39 NET: 41

Hey Hey Hey— your post had me curious so I hopped on the latest net and checked and by golly we jumped all the way from 46 to 41 last night thanks to a plethora of teams losing or looking like poo!
-
If I remember right, KenPom is a metric that is found on team sheets though.

Could Kentucky go from 6 to 1??? Or do the AP voters just scrap last week and start over with the same top 10? LOL

BYU (18) has lost two in a row including last night. Colorado St (17) is 1-2 in MW play and lost last night to Boise St. Clemson (21) lost to Va Tech tonight and is just 1-3 in ACC play. SO there will be spots open!!! -
#5 Tennessee goes down to unranked Mississippi St.

So when KU loses here in a second... does PU just stay at #1? DOES ANYONE WANT THE TOP SPOT? -

Just wait until the "games to watch" thread is restarted and we have to watch SC State play MORE games. -

I posted this exact same thing in my prediction for the game. The hangover is definitely a possibility. -

This is not your 'frandaddy's' Iowa team. They struggle this year more than previous on O and their D is still.... bad. This is definitely a winnable road game. -
I don't know about anyone else, but this team has given me different feels since that MSU game. We could have totally let the season derail after what had happened earlier in that week and we didn't. Then the KSU game, how we played vs Indiana, not losing the UND game, and then last night. I was almost more shocked at how that Wisco game turned out than I was with the IU or KSU wins. I just have a different feeling with this team. Maybe it's because they are more confident that I'm more confident in them. This is no "flash in the pan to Dance" team. This is actually a team that's deserving and SHOULD Dance.

HHCC Game #17 - at Iowa (Jan. 12, 8:30 PM CST)
hskr4life replied to HuskerFever's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
This game has hangover written all over it. We're really going to need to be locked in for this one from the start. We aren't going to be able to sneak up on anyone now. However, we have the TEAM to do it. It'll be 3 in a row vs Iowa. Huskers 83 Iowa 74 -

Likely moderate to heavy snow in Iowa City at game time. Could limit any crowd factor. -
We’re also going to beat you with different pieces. We’re NOT a one man show. In any given night, we have probably 3-4 guys that could be “the guy” if needed. We also have a bench that will harass you MORE than the starters. So when the starters go out, you don’t get a break. You almost get the opposite of that.

Lost in the other 35+ minutes of the game was early when Gary dove for a loose ball around mid court, grabbed it from a Purdue player, and called a TO to get us possession. Initially I was like… crap, that was a wasted time out. However, looking back on it, I think that set the tone for the guys and the crowd loved the hustle!
