  1. Or we are what everyone said we were. 7-0 frauds who only were undefeated because of who we played.
  2. I loved what we did and how we looked at the beginning of the year. This is a completely different team and look currently. We could still win this one… but the way we’ve played this half is embarrassing, unacceptable, and ridiculous. In a year Fred needs to win and, for me personally, dance… this isn’t it.
  3. This would be an absolutely horrible loss.
  4. Wow… this is absolutely awful. What are we doing?
  5. Season could really go off the rails if we don’t win this one. The CU game was one thing. This is unacceptable
  6. 15 point lead gone.. just like that. Ooof.
  7. what happened here?
  8. Seems like the referees are just looking for something to call on us or in Minny’s favor and that’s really caused a few late whistles.
  9. Overall great D to end the half and that was a BIG reason why we’re up 15. Loving the rim, liking the 3 is doing wonders.
  10. That phantom foul call and automatic review for absolutely nothing on Keisei is what I feared. Teams are going to do whatever they can to throw him off, make him uncomfortable, and pick up cheap ones on him. This could be aided if he becomes a player that referees “watch” because of a reputation he receives… either real or perceived.
  11. This is also a team that, if we can jump on them early, might fold. In what will probably be a less than impressive crowd for a team that’s already 0-1 in the Big 10 who is playing a team that doesn’t draw a lot of attention AND with an 8 PM tip… we have nice opportunity to jump on them right away. This shouldn’t be a hostile Barn we’re heading into tonight.
  12. Thanks! It seems like KSU has had a lot of close/OT games that they’ve won in, so I imagine they are up there on the luck scale currently
  13. KSU definitely has the Luck factor-- isn't that figured into someone's rankings? KenPom or Trank maybe?
  14. Let's skip the first few days of December and go right to the 6th.
  15. May favorite... dude scores like 4-5 points... maybe 1-2 baskets and an early shot in the clock is automatically a "heat check" if it's missed. Personally, a heat check to me is when a guy goes on a mini 7-10 point run on their own, have made multiple baskets, and they take a very ill advised 3 or wild driving layup. Not all early shot clock shots are the same.
  16. Wisconsin by 13 over MSU. We have a chance to put MSU at an 0-2 start to conference play.
  17. According to this article… not much “According to reports, college basketball referees take home an average salary between $58,000 and $72,000. The top officials in the bigger conferences like the SEC, ACC and Big Ten can be paid as much as $2,000 per game, but that number dwindles in smaller conference games. The refs making the most likely have decades of experience under their belts, too. One thing to note, however, is that these NCAA basketball referees don't receive paid sick time or vacations because they work on a per-game basis. To make things worse, they're treated as independent contractors who must pay for their own travel.”
  18. Huge win for Big 10 tonight as Illinois takes down FAU.
  19. Free Agency is upon us and there are a lot Of FAs to choose from so far. How many QBs do we take? Do any QBs stick around?
  20. One thing that, I think Norms point speaks a little to of, is that Big 10 referees are known for giving guys reputations. With as much passion and emotion that Keisei brings, we do not want him getting a reputation as a complainer or someone they need to keep an extra eye on. The last thing we need is Kelli or some other referee giving out quick techs because Keisei has that rep.
  21. I’ll be completely honest, I don’t feel we have enough info yet to accurately say… at least not for me. The Creighton game sucked, but it’s a wonkey game all together. It gets a little extra umph because of the situation. It’s a rivalry. Blue state/red state. I could go on and on. Anything can happen in that game and it did. I feel like the next three will tell us more than the previous one about how this team might fare this season. Not every game is going to have the local media attention and umph that Sunday did. We started out 7-0 which most teams would have with our schedule. But we’ve also looked good doing so. We looked like an NCAA team in those wins. There weren’t close games that came down to the wire. We dominated the first 7 which most NCAA teams would also do. But just your run of the mill Power 5 team probably has 1 to 2 of those games closer than it should have been. The next three are all winnable and also all loseable. They are games that an NCAA lock probably goes 2-1 or 3-0 in. They are games that a bubble team will need to win at least 1. CU sucked, but, at least for me, I can’t say what the state of the team is just yet. We’ve done what we needed to against lower tier competition AND lost Sunday while looking ugly doing so.
  22. Can confirm from TV— pretty hard too.
  23. Hopefully the T was a little wake up call.
  24. Minny has one of the better boards out there at Gopher Hole and I wandered over there this morning. They aren't too confident, but also see this as a must win if they want to make anything of this season. They've already played their first game and are 0-1. They don't expect a large crowd, so jumping on them early would be fantastic.
  25. They hit multiple shots late in the shot clock and those that didn't go in, it seemed like they got an offensive rebound. Neither of those helped with the above and I think caused us to play faster than we wanted to early.
