We are going to need to be very smart with our fouls in the first half of games.

We play guys with two fouls 1.6 percent of the time before halftime. That is 359th in the nation. National average is 22.6 percent. There is simply no way that we are that much smarter than everyone else. We are leaving way too many quality minutes on the table. We cant afford to keep going with random lineups that never play together just because guys have two fouls. Like you said, we were very fortunate that the game didn’t get away from us. Have to error on the side of gambling with our approach. The tougher the team, the more this applies. -
I think it might have more to do with getting waxed by 35 a few times

Analytically it is a poor choice to sit them all. All forty minutes are important. -

Arbitrary two fouls in first half sit thing killing us. They aren’t all going to remain in foul trouble whole game. -

And they can reasonably argue that quads are arbitrary and way overblown and that they would never lose multiple games by 35 points.
-
I have always argued that quads are a lazy and somewhat arbitrary tool. This year it could play to our favor if the selection folks are truly so lazy to use it.

We cannot get complacent with a 15 point lead and play random lineups just because a guy or two have two fouls. We can afford to take one guy out of a seven man core rotation into the half with three fouls. Esoecially when one of them is a veteran and extremely important at breaking the press and making them pay for the press. -

Two words needed. Rollie Worster. -
That is the lineup I said is best a couple posts prior.

Essegian needs to play more. We need to have court spacers out there. Allows more room for Gary and Williams to operate. They way hoiberg is shooting it I think our best unit is one without either true point guard. They just cannot make an open shot. Big 10 guards need to be able to.

Got a little too complacent when got up big and Iowa got lucky as hell when sanford made brick off back iron that never should go in. Gave him confidence somehow and we didn’t react to it very well. -
With the current lineup there is lot more pressure on Gary and Rollie to score. Gary shot looks a bit smoother this year to my eye. Rollie really needs to make those wide open threes that he can step into. We go from good team to great team if he can start doing that.

I loved how they kept showing Griffiths with a smile on his face after Gary would make a mockery of someone less than athletic than he is by the rim. Sort of a I hope the gal I am interested in does not dig him or I am screwed type of look. -

I never really thought of Williams as an NBA player, but I think he has a shot. -

Iowa offered Webber.

I am speculating that nothing will be announced from Berke or his camp until semester ends at UCLA mid month. That seems to be when some players get final NIL payments.

Also means no visits for a little while. Can he commit during dead period?

Maybe he doesn’t want a gutted option of having any fun.
