  2. 5 road wins is highly unlikely with this young team, regardless of how some of those teams have played so far. @Rutgers is the closest thing to a lock, but even that one is questionable. Michigan and Ohio State at home are possible wins, but I would also consider them unlikely simply because IMO both of them hold a significant athletic advantage against NU across the board.
  3. No inside presence, poor guard play, no shooters and recurring poor fundamentals + young team on the road - recipe for a pummeling. Creighton is basically the polar opposite in all those categories. And, as others have noted, they seem to have a system and all the players understand the system, knowing where they and their teammates are supposed to be. When an NU guard drives into the paint, the other 4 seem to be glued to a spot - never seems to be much effort or understanding of how to find an open area. Also, as was pointed out previously, could they not figure out that Groselle is left-handed? Every time in the post, they positioned themselves to take away his weak hand. Maybe he can go to the right, but I would think you would at least try to force him that way.
  4. Wow. Offense. What a concept!

  6. Unfortunately we didn't get to hear them try to translate a pizza order during the first half today. That was good entertainment in the first game. I wholeheartedly agree! That was great - I think it lasted about 3 quarters.
  7. Not sure about the players, but the refs have really brought their A-game on the traveling calls. When NU gets to the real season, they should score a bunch more since they won't get called for traveling 15 to 20 times a game. Half of our turnovers this trip seem to be traveling. The good news is it's not our inability to dribble the ball...it's our inability to adapt to Fiba rules. Apparently traveling is different over there...who woulda thunk it. Yep. On one fast break near the end of 2nd Q, the player basically tapped the ball to another player and got called. He didn't even touch the ball long enough to physically be able to move his feet.

  9. I'd have to say that is probably the WORST possible slogan you could come up with for building a basketball program!
  10. If these are the best, it's time to revamp officiating. I thought until the last 8 minutes they had done a decent job, they failed down the stretch I agree - I thought that the rest of the game the officiating was, while not stellar, at least consistent.
  11. Supposedly they choose the best for the final games. Something has to be done about these clowns.
  12. How on earth can you NOT see that Winslow touched the ball? That's a potential 5 or 6 point swing that essentially decided the game. Refs suck.
