  1. Does anyone know Hoiberg's long-term plans? He's a man of character, and maybe, just maybe he agreed to the restructuring of his contract because of his admiration of his grandfather, his family and UNL. Maybe he plans to retire after next season. If so, he gets to hire his replacement as Associate Head Coach. Not a bad plan. He leaves trying his best, saving UNL money, putting a coach he approves in as head coach and being able to pick out the goat we get to sacrifice to turn this crap around. If I'm wrong, Hoiberg better get some excellent assistant coaches and get his ass off the couch and do some recruiting and coaching. What can I say? Either way, get going.
  2. Good answer! I never check the recruiting forum because it hasn't mattered one bit to the success of Husker basketball. No idea why I clicked on it today.... Nice to see Hampton basketball in a conversation, though.
  3. royalfan is one of my favorites!
  4. At least the hot seat keeps the wrinkles out of his slacks....
  5. Travis Steele, Xavier coach, bye bye. I think I hate Xavier as much as the two programs from the east. Sorry, old wounds never heal...
  6. You might have that backwards.... But then again, maybe not. I've heard 44 has that problem.
  7. Mike McConathy retires after 23 years as head coach of Northwestern State. I only bring this up because Northwestern State as a 14 seed beat 3 seed Iowa 64-63 in 2006. Lighting can strike twice!
  8. Frank Martin is out at South Carolina. This has been out for a few hours. You guys are slacking...
  9. What do you mean Lue never got his roses when he was in Lincoln? What, he didn't get credit as a freshman when didn't walk out on his coach? He wasn't beloved by all the fans? Not since Jack Moore did a point guard get more love at NU. I guess we watched two different teams. As far as him not belonging in the NBA initially, I never talked to one Husker fan when he left that said he didn't belong there. I talked to many that said it might be bad timing if the players go on strike. Huh, I guess they did. It still worked out for Tyronn which every Husker fan I've talked to is still very happy for him. Please don't use "us" when you don't speak for "us"
  10. Will Wade in the water ever again? This thread is fun. Breaking: LSU Has Reportedly Fired Will Wade (msn.com)
  11. Not that I give two shits, but Frank Haith resigned from Tulsa. Hey, I just wanted to be a contributor to this thread.... College Basketball Coach Has Reportedly Resigned (msn.com)
  12. Wow. That's all I can say...
  13. Okay, I'll play. Which former player was closer to the spouse than the head coach?
  14. I think you're right HB. Erection is a more fitting word. Actually, erection dysfunction might be the way to describe this program...
  15. After watching all episodes of "Monk", have you considered reducing your moniker by just one letter of the alphabet?
  16. Here's year 4 in my book: Alberts saved the department millions of dollars. He'll find out if Hoiberg can put a staff/team together that can compete in the B1G. If not, that gives him time to have a coaching replacement in hand. Not unlike football. I hope things work out for both programs. Football looks in better shape than basketball, but you never know.....
  17. Maybe. Maybe he's playing like a freshman who just got hurt for the first time in his life. I don't know. Do you?
  18. Do not doubt. Even if/when we fall behind. Huskers win!
  19. We need all the mental rest we can get for the next 4 days.
  20. Good point. Head to head, I remember he held his own against Wayman. Still, my point remains post season awards don't mean squat.
  21. Northwestern favored by 4.5 points. Over/under of the number of Husker fans who have degrees from both Nebraska and Northwestern is 1.5.
  22. Northwestern and Iowa, you're done. Rutgers, clutch your pucker strings.....
  23. Was Dave Hoppen freshman of the year in the Big Eight? He might have been. I don't remember. Point is, who cares what sportswriters and opposing coaches think?
