  1. Kent on the radio broadcast said this rivalry is as big, if not bigger then the Nebraska/Oklahoma rivalry. I differ in one aspect: NU/OU rivalry was based on mutual respect. NU/CU is based on hatred.
  2. I'm dressed in all black today. Have a feeling our defense wins this game. GBR!
  3. The only thing they throw up is breakfast, while they're receiving an ass whoopin'.
  4. The week off is a blessing. It gives KT more time to get that ankle closer to 100%. When I saw the photo of the sprain, my first thought was this is a minimum 4 week recovery. That kid has guts! I think you'll see him come out Sunday with an extra spring in his step. Also, the break gave extra time to prepare for Creighton, with some prep for Minnesota and Michigan State, too. This team will not come out flat Sunday!
  5. Saturday night. We were at the Water Hole. (Imagine that). Not many people on Saturday nights. They cranked the radio broadcast the second half. They took care of paying patrons. The last 10 minutes we couldn't believe they kept the lead, and then building on it. Kent speaking in a hushed voice the last two minutes is priceless!
  6. I wish we had audio of the Kent calls of that game and the Missouri game.
  7. I bet no Creighton player has the nads to go into the bleachers after fans like Carl McPipe and Andre Smith did...
  8. Thanks, Bugeaters, you made my day! I know I've shared this one before, there is another George Harrison video I really feel fits this Husker team. They remind me so much of different teams from the early nineties. They have qualities from several of those teams. They're deep, they can shoot the 3, they create turnovers, they rebound, make free throws and they're really fun to watch. It appears the team is having as much fun as the fans! GBR
  9. I would rather learn lessons from a 13 point victory than a 21 point loss.
  10. I'll take a 13 point victory any day. We just went through a seven game streak where we were expected to win every game. In years past, we don't. Free throw shooting and rebounding looks really good. KT has another week to get healthier. Ankles take time. I can't wait for next week!
  11. Well, from media break to break, we went from up 2 to up 6. We need to tighten up the 3 point defense.
  12. Listening to the radio, sounds like Mast is once again making great passes.
  13. Huskers up 10-8 at the media break. So far, so good.
  14. Scheierman gets what he deserves. He said he was happy to return home when he went to Creighton. I'm sure he'll get a warm welcome December 3.
  15. And thank you so much for all who contributed!
  16. I ran into HB a couple weeks ago at Gary Michaels Clothiers. Gary Novtney, the owner, donated a lot of things for my son Seth's benefit over seven years ago. Many of you donated a lot of money, so HB agreed with me it might be time to give everyone an update on Seth. I will make this brief as possible. For those new to the board, Seth was diagnosed with MDS, a form of leukemia, fourteen years ago. Several of my HHC family has met him. We attended the Barry's meeting of board members for the last game at the Bob. He loved it! He told me later that I'm on a message board with really nice people. I promised to make this short. May of 2021, Seth had a bone marrow transplant at Mayo in Rochester. All went well with the procedure. Since then, he's gone through what we laughingly call the Husker basketball procedure. What can go wrong... After the transplant, he's had GVHD, graft vs host disease. It's the transplant attacking his body. It can go after other organs. This one picked his liver. To combat it, doctors put him on high levels of prednisone. The prednisone attacked his hip. He will have hip replacement on January 23. He's had blurred vision in his left eye. When he went to his cancer doctor at UNMC, and by the way, his doctor and the cancer center are great, he told Seth virtually all organ transplant recipients develop cataracts. We learn something new everyday! Seth has his dad's eternal optimism. We always win in the end! God always wins! GBR!
  17. This is amazing! I agree, this is the funniest moment in sitcom history. But, November 22 is also the saddest day in our generation's lives. I choose to laugh at the turkeys!
  18. Duquesne is located in Pittsburgh P. A. This song has prophetic implications for the Huskers!
  19. It would be cool if they brought Danny back for this game since he coached at both schools and he is Nebraska's winningest coach. If they can bring Collier back, they surely can get Nee here.
  20. I had the pleasure of coaching John for a couple years of Legion Baseball in Hampton. Henderson doesn't have a Legion. Well, they have legions of Mennonites, but that's a different story.... Anyway, great athlete and a great attitude. We could have used him last night in the punting game.
  21. Tominaga is back. Back to back 3's and now a chance to get the old fashioned 3 point play. Life is good.
  22. From the little research I did, this would bring him to the top of the pay scale of AD's in the B1G. Why would we bitch about paying top dollar for quality people? And don't tell me Trev is not quality people.
  23. More fun facts: Michael Nesmith of the Monkees wrote this song. His mother invented white out. For the younger members on the board, white out was used to repair 8 track tapes.
