Well, this is the final game of the nonconference season. For the most part, Mr. Blue Sky has been smiling down on the Huskers. With a win today, they'll have 9 in the "W" column. I think most fans before the season started would have taken that. I know I would have.
But, the B1G is just around the corner. There is no line on today's game, and looking ahead, there's a pretty good chance we won't be a favorite until the February 9 home game with Penn State---games at PSU and home vs. Northwestern could be pick ems. It will be interesting to see how the Huskers respond to the brutal schedule.
As for today's game, I'm curious to see how we look with the new lineup. Hopefully, Shields' hand is okay and Parker's knee is progressing. The Huskers need to come out looking sharp from the opening tip. Go Big Red!
