Once again, here's another battle between B1G cellar dwellers. Does this make 4 out of 4 times we've played Penn State since joining the conference that we're the 11th and 12th placed teams? Or did Penn State happen to be 10th one of the times we played them last year? I can't remember.... Anyway, tonight's game looks to be another battle of epic proportion. The Nittany Lions are ranked 308th in scoring offense, 333rd in field goal shooting and 341st in 3 point shooting. Meanwhile, the Huskers are 334th in scoring, 258th in field goal shooting and 300th in 3 point shooting. I hope no one is counting on Runzas..... This game could be a nail-biter just like the first one. The Huskers have been less than stellar at the BDSC, and Penn State definately is looking at this game as their chance to get a conference win. It doesn't matter how pretty the win is, a sweep over a conference foe would be sweet for this team. It would be nice to be someone other than Penn State, but we'll take what we can get. Hahaha. What a great idea! When done properly, it is a pretty inimidating opening to any event! A couple years ago the New Zealand national rugby team performed a Haka for the Australian national rugby team prior to the match. At the end of the Haka the New Zealand team drew their fingers across their throats indicating slitting the throats of the Aussies. The Aussies walked of the field and refused to play the match for 30 minutes or so. We should try that with Ohio State!!! Bill Callahan, is that you?

Thanks for the update, colhusker. I was wondering what you were doing tonight. Actually, there is a fat Saturday event going on at the BDSC tonight when a certain player enters the game for the Huskers.....

unl, Andre Smith, IMO, is one of the most underrated Huskers ever. At 6'7", he went against players 3-6" taller than him every game and still dominated. It would have been nice to see him playing for a year or two with Hoppen, but that's pretty much the story of Nebraska basketball, isn't it? We're always just a little off with timing... Nothing wrong with the King selection. He had all the tools, and his senior year, had a ton of talent surrounding him. He had better athleticism than Hoppen, but Hoppen had such a touch around the basket and Iba had an offense designed to get him the ball. Like I originally said, and others before me, this is not an easy exercise having watched everyone on the list play. It's a little hard to believe that all these really good, if not great players, don't have an NCAA Tourney victory among them. Such is life.....
