Anybody else notice that Maryland was allowed to run about 14 seconds off the clock after White's 3 to cut it to 6? Layman (I think it was Layman) was allowed to stand there with the ball at his feet and purposely not pick it up and the refs never started a 5 count. About 14 seconds ran off from the time the ball came through the basket and the time the ball was inbounded.

I don't know the rule for certain but why can't the refs start a 5 count if the ball is available and they are ready to throw it in just not picking the ball up yet (on purpose)? I mean, if the ball isn't available and has bounced away or into the cheerleaders or something they will frequently blow the whistle to stop the clock and reset it.

Great catch and it was complete BS.  It is a horrific rule that allows that to take place.  Ran 11 seconds off the clock before he even grabbed the damn ball.  It really pisses me off bad right now.  Wish you hadn't mentioned it.  My blood is boiling after watching it back.  Completely intentional.  At what point can he just not pick the damn thing up for 20 seconds?  My goodness.

NCAA clearly needs to go to the clock stoppage in the last two minutes instead of one minute, just like the NBA who has it correct.  Especially since there is no ball advancement like the NBA on a time out(and for the record I am not sure why there should be auto ball advancement)

Once we cut it to 6. We were not going to win that game. no way in hell we were going to get any kind of close call, let alone well we will let that slide kind.

When in the pregame all they could talk about was that Maryland is a final four team. And Michigan is the team with the glass shoe right now.

So I knew it was going have to be Maryland loosing not us beating them.

Oh well some day we will get there.
