Rachel T ...something is bothering her...physically. It looked like it last game too. Her injury is coming back...pain??

Kyndal does so much defensibly, offensively, and all over the court. Her, Nat and Rachel make a very tough set of guards to deal with. They drove A St crazy most of the game.

Was glad to see the refs calling a lot of their fouls....missed a lot of their moving screens, but at least they did call lots of the fouls.

Our missed layups early were agonizing. (and the turnovers ;) ) Worth at least 12 pts in the game. It could have put the game out of reach....

We hung in there...fought hard....we were the better team...a lot because we were deeper...and bigger.

Even without Maddie and RB43. Was she even at the game (43) ?

Not that it matters, I watched a large part of Ariz St game today...never saw Ibis on the floor... at least while I watched.

Yori said Rachel rolled her ankle in the NAU game and didn't practice yesterday. Nat didn't practice yesterday either because her eye swelled shut.

Some time off (week) will be good for us...get healed up from the grind and banging around of 10-12 games. Who was bleeding during the game?  Several players had to get cleaned up.

Up comes Iowa...now the real grind begins.

Clark had a great game and had been a very solid defensive player for us. Looks like she has figured out her role for the team.   Hopefully we will get more of this when the Big 10 schedule starts.

From Ar St coach:'

"Nebraska is one of the first teams in the last couple of years that could outscore us," said Arkansas State coach Brian Boyer, whose team is 6-3. "They played as fast as anybody we have seen all year.

"Nebraska is going to be a top-25 team soon."

Nebraska connected on 16 of 18 free throws in the second half and hit 7 of its last 11 shots from the field.

That quick play is one of our best assets.....other teams may start to try to slow us down too. We have played fast from the start this season....been scoring a lot because of it. ....depth of the bench shows. Need Maddie and Rachel B back !

Thank you Coach Yori when she said in her post conference “We’re trying to get our man defense to look and run like a zone defense to help get our players in a better defensive position to stop penetration into the lane!” This should help Rachel T with her gimpy ankle and Allie when she gets sucked out to the perimeter.

Kyndal Clark with a huge game last night and a dagger cold blooded 3 to seal the win! Jess Shepard just keeps getting better every game. And what can you say about Natalie!

Be nice to have everyone healthy going into Big Ten play. Looked as if Maddie is getting closer to returning also. Going to be really interesting to finally get to see Alicia Ostrander hopefully she can get into the Iowa game for at least a couple minutes!

Had a recruit here last night but no one knows who she was! Looked like a guard.

But it's still not a full blown zone. You won like it to be.

I think where we really missed Rachel B last night was in the rebounding department. Looking forward to seeing her back on the court and ready to beat Iowa!

The last two games were her type of games in that the refs were letting g a lot things go and that is where is is at her best. According to her dad.

just curious question for those more familiar with jshepard's past---has she always had trouble at the free throw line? i am sure she knows it is something to work on.

with everything that has gone on the last couple weeks, timing for a break has got to be rather welcome. i'm just wondering if maddie won't be at least dressed for the iowa game? probably has some therapy to do with that arm yet, but, guessing she can't be far away. would have to say it is looking good for a return---soon. hopefully, the rest of the team can get healthy. like mentioned before, it was easy to see on rachel's face something isn't feeling right. so fun to watch nat when she "turns it up" and gets on a roll!!! we just started to see that part of her game at the end of last season.

think i heard matt and jeff state (when kc was taking the ball to the hoop) that was the kendall clark they remember from her days at drake. not so much the 3's. nice to see her have a great game!

no doubt, BTNplus was a bit of a pain last night---to state it mildly.  i still listen to matt and jeff while watching the games on BTNplus. not synced, but, i prefer to listen to their call.

What I noticed about Maddie was when she got her vast off her arm was still in the 90 % and when she would give a five at the intro's. Last night it was more down at her side be still was using right hand to high five at intro. I would think that she is rehabilitation by doing g dribbling drills and running.

I don't recall that Jess was ever a bad free throw shooter in HS, but I also didn't watch Fremont that closely when she was there.  It seems like the shooting issues are always at the other end of the court in the first half.  Early game jitters, just getting warmed up, not sure what the issue is.  We missed 7 layups in the first half alone (I didn't remember it was that high but one of the local newspapers had that in their article).  At the end of the night, our free-throw percentage was respectable.

I loved loved loved seeing Kyndal take it to the hoop.  I also loved it when Jess passed the ball out to Nat for a wide open 3.  Both of those things happening make us so much harder to defend.  Kyndal, Nat, and Theriot are all very capable 3 point shooters.  If teams are going to double/triple Jess, then she needs to kick that ball out to one of them.

One of the rebounds that Jess had last night in the 4th quarter (I think it was the 4th), she was way up in the air.  I don't think I've ever seen her jump so high.  Maybe she is getting more comfortable post-knee injury.

one time asu was pressing Havers was at the free throw line received the ball nat was in the corner screaming at allie for the ball nat was wide open no one within 30 ft and allie drove the ball. So do you kick it or love the rim?

Jess has good form on her free throw shooting. Maybe she needs Trevor Menke to show her what she is doing wrong.

I'm no doctor, but Maddie must of had something like a dislocated elbow...or something. If it were actually broken, wouldn't it have taken even longer to heal ?

Kyndal... just seems like she was so conscious of not being a ball hog, or whatever you'd like to call it, and rather wanted to fit into the team...she has held back a bit. If she can continue to step it up like the last couple of games....look out it.. will help pull the defense out from the inside, and open up the bigs. She has a good floor game offensively, driving to the basket...use it girl !

Nat, RT, and Kyndal....all can handle the ball, drive to get shots & layups, good defenders, run fast breaks, hit 3s...They're going to be tough on the B1G. :D

Last couple of games Jess looks to have a better handle on what she needs to do. Doing lots more defensibly, and moving with and without the ball. Picked up the pace of her game. (New to college basketball, and she might have been too out of shape to keep up early on because of knee injury....for someone who started behind the rest...wow)

Not to worried about the rebounds...we just had a funky game, and weren't hitting on all cylinders in several ways. Especially in the first half.  Really encouraged by the second half of the game...... feel better about the Iowa game coming up.

This team is coming together

Is this directed at me? If so why?

It is still a man defense no matter how you look at it.
