Nebraska football as we know it now:

"If we had a game on Mars, I guarantee you, our fans would try to find a way to get to Mars to watch us play. I swear to you, they would. They would do it. Man, they are committed."

Maybe it's just me, but "Nebraska football then ('40s/'50s)" sounds eerily similar to Nebraska basketball today. What I would give to see our program get in the right direction and on it's way to consistent national recognition...
