Sorry about the tracking. I've tried two different VCRs (all I have on hand) Both have similar tracking issues. One won't even rewind anymore and adjusting the tracking seems to make it worse. I'm still tinkering with settings to see if I can get better quality. The real issue is 23 year old tapes and I'm trying to get them digitized before they degrade any more. I've waited for 20 years to see if the university would finally find the initiative to put the games from the greatest era in Husker Hoops on DVD right up there on the website with the compelling football DVDs of us pummeling FCS teams.

What do we remember here about Melvin Brooks? What kind of player was he/etc? My memories of him are very limited, for some reason. Norm? CWG? Lang? Hugh? Etc etc etc?

 

Melvin Brooks was a role player who played his role (rebound and defend) fairly well his junior year when we won the Big 8 tourney. Expanded his game to the 3 point line as a senior while still doing a good job on the glass and defending.  As I recall we struck out on a better prospect and Melvin was our fall back.  At 6' 8" and ~220, he was a decent athlete and he did what he was recruited to do coming in from junior college.
