For those who didn't stay up to watch the whole game last night, it was a very high level game considering it was the first for both teams. Lead changed hands umpteen times in overtime game, both teams competed with intensity, and the Hoosiers actually looked like the better team. KU players looked to Mason at the end of the game, while all of the Indiana players seemed to want the ball to take a game winning shot. I'm chalking up at least two losses to the Huskers and am glad we don't play Indiana twice this year.

Just when you think the Huskers have improved quite a bit, then you see the Hoosiers & Jayhawks and realize that they just re-load while Nebrasketball re-builds..

True, yet we now seem to be getting basketball players who have the talent to compete at the highest level.  We haven't seen that for years.

No, we don't ever re-build. That would imply that we've finished building something.

We're in a constant state of construction.

It's as opposed to 're-load'.... which implies it's already built.

i think of "re-build" as meaning it must start over quite a bit.

Oh, I get it, I just don't think it's the right term (not that it matters, really).

To "re-build" implies something had been built previously, but now is in disrepair.  I don't think we've even made it to that point.

We're trying to "re-build" the football program, because it's been built successfully before.

In the early-to-mid 90's Nebraska was very successful. So I guess I think it has been built previously.

True, but it wasn't sustained for very long, and I'm not sure how "very successful" we were, in that we didn't win an NCAA tourney game.

Again, I'm not entirely sure why we're even sort of arguing about this (or, why I even brought it up).  We're essentially meaning the same thing.

Those two programs are where we want to be.  Whether we re-build to get there, of if we continue the construction that started 25 years ago doesn't really matter; we just want to get there.

Making four straight NCAA's and a team that was ranked in the top 10 is very successful. It's all about expectations, really.

It's not very successful for Kansas and Indiana.

If we aspire to get to their level, we need to have their expectations.

That's why I mentioned "expectations." I think most know that Nebrasketball has much different ones than IU or KU. It's okay to be realistic, too.
