  1. with all due respect, not sure i would call 6 Summit League championships and 9 Summit League Tournament Championships with a sweet 16 ncaa appearance last season "trending in the right direction". i would say they have established themselves as the "hunted" in the Summit League and now USD may be joining them. don't see things changing much----SDSU and USD will be battling it out for at least the near future in the league. i always thought Aaron Johnson was a great coach, but, he really solidified that in my mind this season with what he did after losing 3 to injuries---Myah Selland (possibly for her career) and another impressive freshman that was starting (plus another one that came off the bench).
  2. yes, now that you mention it. gonna guess she went for the scholarship. she mentioned playing at nebraska in a recent interview and had nothing but good things to say, but, also stated she was very happy with her decision to attend SDSU.
  3. both teams benefited from transfers---SDSU has RCJ from huskers and Larsen from Iowa. USD's Sverjen from New Mexico which was a huge get for them. heckuva game plan by AJ and players carried it out quite well---just came up short. can anyone refresh my memory with RCJ? did she decide to leave on her own or did coach encourage her? or does anyone really know?
  4. i think Dawn P has a girl that plays for Vermillion---jr? that may play into coaches decision.
  5. this year, it's the Coyotes to lose.........defeated jacks both times they played. not sure jacks could even pull the upset if they were healthy. usd's year. i would have to believe someone will come calling for usd's coach after the season is over. no idea what her coaching goals are and how she feels about staying in Vermillion, but....$$$ might lift her eyebrows.
  6. sure..........why not when you got that much in-state talent? iowa state defeats baylor--------can't hurt Fenelly's recruiting
  7. Minnesota State girls bb tourney: Whalen and the Gophers have 10 offers out to players that will be playing in the tournament. that would include classes from 2021-23. don't know how many other offers out there to players who are seniors or younger who didn't make it to state. just a little fyi on the kind of talent minnesota gbb produces. how many Whalen can get to stay at "home", that might be another story. i recognized at least a handful of those that have garnered interest from big time schools.
  8. i believe SM stated Porter would crack the top 100, but, guess it's difficult to say until we see her next season. i know Stewart was rated 150 in one service and not rated in Hoop Gurlz top 100.
  9. i think as long as Frese and 'Guff are at these schools, it is really going to be tough. not saying an upset is possible every now and then, but, maryland and osu are probably going to be the cream at the top----especially maryland. but, expectations of being in the running for somewhere in that top 6 on a fairly consistent basis should not be out of the question.
  10. Big Ten Hoop Gurlz 2020 signees/top 100 rated so far: (just players that made top 100 rating) Maryland #2 OSU #20 Iowa #4 Rutgers #6, #62, #65 Penn St #30 Michigan #35 Purdue #36 Minnesota #46, #75 NW #47 Wisconsin #99 Michigan State #67
  11. yep, and Maryland has the #2 rated overall and #1 rated at wing for 2020 (only player signed). OSU has 20th player, a 5* pg and 2 3*'s coming in.
  12. odds most likely go with that.......however, the one guard from NW had a pretty decent career (can't think of her name) and Taryn McCutcheon had a very nice career at MSU. yep, many of the pg's seem to be getting taller. i think iowa's incoming pg is listed at 6' or 6'1"?
  13. yes, they beat Duke............however, i watched a couple of Duke's games lately and seriously doubt Huskers beat THIS Duke squad. they are playing much better basketball than when they played the Huskers. going into that game i believed Duke had better all around athleticism and talent than the Huskers. still, it was a 'W'. i still think that OSU loss was the hardest "gut punch" than any of the other losses. it was so obvious in the body language......really made a fan wonder if they could bounce back. they never really did. imo, even starting out with the conf wins, teams that were athletic (footwork, close out fast on players, etc---whatever you choose to call it) were gonna cause problems for the Huskers. i think that proved to be very true.
  14. jury is out, but, if she can stay healthy she should have a great shot.
  15. wouldn't surprise me at all if we are seeing a glimpse into at least the near future of the Big Ten Tourney championship game. Maryland vs OSU. Maryland is always gonna be there and OSU is pretty young and i am willing to bet, keep attracting top recruits. That is as long as they can stay out of the same side of the bracket. OSU better be careful, Maryland starting to run away.
  16. and, this may be one of AJ's best coaching performances. been rather injury plagued this season. had to revamp starting lineup. number of players seeing far more minutes than predicted. for the most part, they handled the summit schedule rather easily except for usd. defense has been pretty doggone good. i really expected them to have more conference losses than they did. 3 i believe? still a number of minny fans that wish the "u" would have pursued him instead of whalen. he is from just outside of the twin cities.
  17. the big ten conference happened. that non-con had many believing they were better than they really were. i don't like being negative, but, i still had many questions after the non-con was completed.
  18. too many players with slow footwork on this squad. michigan goes around them with ease on either end of the floor. something we've seen most of the big ten season---just not a good rebounding team.
  19. gotta find a way to go at hillmon early and often
  20. now the million dollar question----------can huskers keep it up?
  21. her sister, Chase Coley played for Iowa---was trying to find the article i saw with her offers but couldn't find it. has at least a handful of big ten offers.
  22. most of all, wanna "W"---------whatever the outcome, i want the huskers to keep their heads in the game and be competitive so they give themselves a chance at the end if it should go this way.
  23. offer out to Kendall Coley from St Louis Park, Mn https://twitter.com/FBCtheNorth/status/1234956053688836097?s=20
  24. i know it is a nice gesture and all, but, i don't get too worked up about it. as long as they get to play, i'm ok with it. would I start them, probably-----but, that is her decision and i'm not going to lose sleep over it. agree, great group of student/athletes.
  25. as i stated earlier, i didn't think Versyp would be back this season. i'm a little surprised Creme still has them making the "dance". wouldn't surprise me if a situation in another conference comes about that knocks them out. what, any loss gives them 14 for the season?
