  1. yes, the stats i found were just for regular season. minnesota is the "gorilla" compared to sd. that does not include # of games through state tourney and the summer clubs.
  2. fwiw, talking to a guy that knows one of SD sportswriters. brought up 3 names: (1) Bella Swedlund he heard her offers are rising fast. well over 20 but didn't know how many of those might be P5. (2) Hannah Ronsiek from Sioux Falls O'Gorman. she is getting a lot of attention also. her sister (Emma) is at Creighton and there is some mention she may join her---however, he stated some are saying she may want to pave her own way. (3) the gal from Sioux Falls Washington (Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda). arguably, one of SD's most athletic recruits in some time. stated the "buzz" on her has been kinda quiet for whatever reason. her mother played at Old Dominion and professionally. at one time, there were rumors she would probably head south for the warmer weather---but, he said those were just "rumors". he said a number of area P5 schools have shown interest not to mention others nationally.
  3. i just came across some interesting stats for hs gbb. Minnesota: 18 minute halves 26 games/season = 936 minutes South Dakota: 8 minute quarters 20 games/season = 640 minutes curious how Nebraska and Iowa compare. could anyone provide the info?
  4. i sure hope they don't have to play in front of cardboard cutouts!!!
  5. https://omaha.com/sports/college/huskers/teams/womens-basketball/amy-williams-has-huskers-eager-to-practice-and-prepared-to-handle-any-curveballs/article_15eea333-87a3-58e2-821e-8678059be99d.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter_OWHbigred "Coaches want student-athletes, most of whom live together, sticking together outside of practice. Williams said she doesn’t see her team hitting the downtown O Street bars en masse, but if they head out to the lake together, she wants them to maintain social distancing. Cain, who is a “captain intern” this summer, is shepherding the team as well. “They tell us to be safe and not go into places where there’s going to be a ton of people,” Cain said. “And we have to make sure we wear our masks.” doesn't surprise me to see Cain take the "reigns".
  6. Indiana adds Canadian who reclassifies from 2021 to 2020: https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-womens-basketball-picks-up-a-late-2020-addition-with-top-75-forward-kiandra-browne/ "Browne will join Chloe Moore-McNeil as part of the 2020 class. Notre Dame transfer forward Danielle Patterson and George Mason transfer guard Nicole Cardano-Hillary will also be new members of the team for the 2020-21 season."
  7. just something interesting if one is bored...i will say this, i don't know how the USD coach gets a mention and SDSU's doesn't. the jackrabbits made it to the sweet sixteen recently. https://www.silverwavesmedia.com/news_article/show/1114001
  8. i noticed coach love and coach williams follow her twitter account. she just received an offer from SDSU. Lily Krahn 2022 • Point Guard, Shooting Guard, Small Forward 5'10" HEIGHT 140lbs WEIGHT F GENDER Wisconsin Flight Elite Basketball CLUB Prairie du Chien HIGH SCHOOL Prairie du Chien, WI HOME TOWN also, coach love and coach williams following Lillian Meister 6'2" sf from Rochester John Marshall. offers from Louisville, Oregon, and SDSU (i believe both of her parents are from SDSU). it sounds like her offers are going to skyrocket. i heard she has Big Ten offers but were not given. just a guess, but would think at least Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin may have shown interest (since they are "local" schools). coach love and coach mays following De Pere, Wisconsin's Jordan Meulemans (2022): 5'10" pg/sg 13ppg, 90%ft 52% fg, 4 assists pg, 5'11" wingspan. has interest from a number of Big Ten schools---among many others.
  9. if your interested, Bella Swedlund sophomore highlights...look at where she drains some of those 3's https://www.hudl.com/video/3/8840280/5e752460dfd9da1a9cb5312d
  10. do they start today (7-20)?
  11. jmo, i think amy has the charisma----i just think it may be her coaching at this level. it's tough. i'm pulling for her and would really like to see her become successful at Nebraska. she has to prove herself----soon. i'm really torn about last season. i could see an argument for personality conflicts. i really hope chemistry comes together in 2020 and beyond.
  12. just a little fyi....Sophie Hart out of minnesota has picked NC State. got a good one there.
  13. nothing will surprise me anymore. Monday, my old high school in SD (Madison) has suspended all summer sporting activities because they had 4 test positive for Covid-19. they did more testing and are awaiting results. stuff like this makes me kinda nervous about what might happen with all sports.
  14. SDSU getting 2021's Markowski and Haliegh Timmer from RC St Thomas More was a bit of a surprise for fans. not many thought they would choose the Jackrabbits, especially Timmer and thought she would go P5. Don't know much about Markowski, but, have seen Timmer in the State Tourney's. I think she has the potential to be one of the Jackrabbits best ever. at one time i was going to ask if Huskers were looking at Timmer, but, then saw she had committed to the Jackrabbits. maybe someone could refresh my memory...did the Huskers offer Markowski? or even talk to her? if they did, maybe she told the staff she was not interested in playing at home?
  15. @MikeSautterOWHIdk that much about girls basketball recruiting and levels etc but Alexis Markowski just put on a dominant performance vs I guess two top 50 forwards in her class. Lasers win their first bracket game 65-58. Markowski’s line: 25 pts, 10 rebs and 4 blks.
  16. with Lawson getting hired at Duke, interesting read on the new generation of coaches (by espn's Graham Hayes)...https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/29443985/duke-kara-lawson-represents-new-generation-coaches
  17. done deal---Lawson it is.
  18. being reported that Duke is targeting Kara Lawson and deal could be done very soon. https://www.newsobserver.com/sports/college/acc/duke/article244129572.html
  19. Big Ten announces if fall sports played, it will be conference schedule only.https://bigten.org/news/2020/7/9/big-ten-statement-on-2020-21-fall-season.aspx
  20. fwiw... "The Ohio State athletic department has paused all voluntary workouts following the results of its most recent COVID-19 testing, the university announced Wednesday evening. Seven teams are affected: football, men’s and women’s basketball, field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer and women’s volleyball. A university source said athletes are not being sent home and the hope is that workouts can resume next week." would be kind of interesting to know the total number of positive cases that came out of this
  21. i see coach love and coach williams follow Royal Center, Ind 5' 6" guard Ashlynn Brooke on twitter. believe she received an offer from Miami of Ohio, Akron, Xavier, Central Michigan, and Purdue just offered. recovered from torn ACL. https://www.pharostribune.com/sports/article_96cb0446-590e-11ea-ae39-4b65e89ef44a.html didn't see anything stating an offer from nebraska, though.
  22. Whitney Brown: https://spark.adobe.com/page/KYotDlg3KlY05/ “Team chemistry is going to play a huge role in our success this year, and I am not one bit worried about it because from the minute all of us girls stepped in the weight room together, joined Zoom calls, or texted in our group messages, you could sense the team chemistry,” Brown said. “From my perspective, we’ve already got great teamwork, encouragement and a strong bond. We scrimmaged each other a couple times, had movie nights and team bonding activities and have been working out together the past three or four weeks. Week by week, we are getting closer together and stronger on the court."
  23. thanks for the kind words, Red Don. i enjoy doing some digging on my days off (unfortunately, the covid situation helps a little as far as the opportunity TO dig a little more). as far as Mara Braun---jmo, but i'm not sure the huskers have the winning consistency it might take to get her on board. although, as you mentioned, not going to hurt to have Stewart be a spokesperson for the Big Red. not sure how close they are with each other. but.....ya never know. completely agree with you on Taylor McCabe---"must-get" for this coaching staff. when i saw that comment from Bella Swedlund, i thought, "ok, check that box!" well, except that "sisters" part might not have worked out so well last season. i hope that changes here on out. it does amaze me a bit that the huskers have such a great fan base that recruiting isn't covered more. i know very well coaches can't talk about names, but, one would think more names would get out there somehow. oh well, it is what it is, i guess. when it comes to other wbb forums, some discuss recruiting more than others---and many not at all. so........
  24. if they aren't, Huskers might want to take a serious look at Bella Swedlund from Winner, SD. " Bella Swedlund currently has offers from Illinois, Illinois State, Montana State, and Colgate." Sophomore stats: 5'9" sg/pg 22 games 20.3 ppg 3.4 assists pg 7.2 reb pg 2.8 steals pg .4 blocks pg was watching some of her video. smooth looking 3pt shot---really smooth. can get to the hoop. don't think it is a stretch saying that she will get more attention. SDSU is kinda drooling over her, probably USD also. scuttlebutt is that she will probably go P5. Bella's personal statement: "I want to find a team that my teammates are like sisters. I also want to find a program that helps students get the best education possible and can also help me in basketball coaching skills for later in life."
  25. looks like Northwestern may have another good one: "Caileigh Walsh, the 6-foot-4 post from Sparta, New Jersey, verbally committed to Northwestern. The No. 11 ranked forward chose the Wildcats over UCLA and Vanderbilt." "Armed with a unique combination of size, skill and athleticism, Walsh is a more than capable producer on both ends of the hardwood. She’ll bring the 2020 Big Ten Champions a consistent threat to their inside-outside game offensively as she can shoot the ball out beyond the 3-point line already."
