  1. Kelly Bond-White Texas A&M associate head coach under Gary Blair. great recruiter. wouldn't surprise me if she takes over for departed Duke coach McCallie.
  2. wow Bugeaters1! congratulations! for some of us that are not far behind, the days, months, years seem to go faster the older you get. i hope you adjust well!
  3. sorry bugs, posted this in the wbb blog. for whatever reason, this didn't come up highlighted for me as a new post. anyway, this news is a little odd to me. kinda strange it comes this late.
  4. former MSU coach McCallie won't return to Duke: https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/29399299/joanne-mccallie-return-duke-women-basketball-coach Michelle Voepel threw out a couple names: ASU's Adia Barne's and UNC's Banghart---former Princeton coach.
  5. my father was a small town hospital administrator back in the days. there were a few times he questioned how in the world some of these drs got hired. in one town we lived in, the drs hired a new guy----who, after a couple of years or so, it was found out he never really did have a medical license at all. i believe the guy was originally from california.
  6. this time, it's Ashley Scoggins. man, she has been through a lot! including a botched surgery. https://spark.adobe.com/page/KYotDlg3KlY05/ "In November of 2018, it was determined that when her knee popped in July of 2018 her ACL had come completely detached from her femur. The surgery on her right knee in January of 2018 included her ACL being put in at the wrong angle. It was doomed to fail." “The biggest thing I would have to say is I'm a fighter,” Scoggin said. “No matter how many times I fall, I will get right back up. Coming back from not only one ACL, but three is hard. I learned how to pick myself up, and keep going.”
  7. https://www.prepgirlshoops.com/2019/06/prospect-spotlight-jada-gyamfi-2022/ "Gyamfi is one of the top 2022 players in the state and is looking to have her college decision made by the fall. Wherever she chooses to go will be lucky to have her. She is only going to get better and evolve her game over the next few years."
  8. hmm....isabel palmer is at least the 19th DI wbb player from Australia to enter the transfer portal this off-season. (from raoul on twitter) i don't know how many players from Australia are playing at the DI level, but, it sure seems to be a rather high percentage of transfers. i could be wrong, though.
  9. blow for Purdue---at least for this upcoming season: https://purduesports.com/news/2020/6/29/womens-basketball-mclaughlin-to-miss-2020-21-season.aspx
  10. hadn't heard of Next Sports Phenom...thanks for the tip. i see they also list her at 6' 7" went to the FAQ for NSP...i see they consider themselves a regional service covering Virginia, Maryland, and District of Columbia. they do have national contributors.
  11. congrats!
  12. i am cautiously optimistic with Tatiana. i did not see where she had any rankings. we all know rankings aren't perfect, but, they are there for a reason. hopefully, between her father and the coaches she can develop into a force. time will tell. GBR!
  13. some highlights from all iowa attack... https://twitter.com/_taylormccabe/status/1275188262290759687?s=20 coach should have "full court press" on her!
  14. welcome Tatiana! guess that means no shot at Sophie Hart. idk, maybe huskers weren't even recruiting her---which would make no sense or she may have showed no interest.
  15. incoming freshman A. Stewart: https://spark.adobe.com/page/KYotDlg3KlY05/?fbclid=IwAR0QkzFCNGfcBsHfIh2h0vTnBk4atirBuywr-1zRXAqNeF0O8sE1URGfCis “We will all be learning and adjusting a lot,” Stewart said. “But I think that all seven of our different experiences along with the returning players will mesh well and give us a unique advantage above other teams.” "Her first two seasons in Minnesota helped prepare her for a huge end to her senior season in 2019-20. Stewart averaged 20.0 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists while hitting 65.5 percent of her two-point field goal attempts and 41.5 percent (39-94) of her threes. She was also nearly a 90 percent free throw shooter (51-57). She led Wayzata to a 24-5 record with three losses to national No. 1 Hopkins and Gatorade National Player of the Year Paige Bueckers."
  16. like it or not, it is the sporting world nowadays.
  17. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/student-athletes-will-soon-be-social-media-influencers-and-one-college-program-is-helping-them-do-it/
  18. is that calf photoshopped?!?
  19. an interesting look into programs being cut by colleges because of COVID-19:https://businessofcollegesports.com/tracker-college-sports-programs-cut-during-covid-19-pandemic/ actually, i thought it might have been higher----however, far from over yet.
  20. idk, always thought Merchant was a pretty decent coach for the Big 10. MSU gets some pretty good talent. Merchant has had a string of bad luck the past couple of years.......however, having said that, may be something to watch once things get back to normal.
  21. Helms brings excitement: https://spark.adobe.com/page/KYotDlg3KlY05/ "Helms continued to gain strength and make adjustments to the college game without seeing much time in the first half of the season. But as the pain subsided, her legs gained strength and her fitness level and speed improved, and Helms began to earn more playing time."
  22. Helms time: https://spark.adobe.com/page/KYotDlg3KlY05/
  23. former Buckeye Janai Crooms headed to Michigan State
  24. guess i didn't know Washington is an alum... https://www.ndinsider.com/basketball/womens/coquese-washington-returning-to-notre-dame/article_83902a82-492c-562d-becc-cedcf539b28b.html
