well done, Red Don! great info for every Husker fan!

understood, but sure was expecting a little tougher non-con schedule. it just may have helped going into big ten play. that's why i really hope no hiccups in the non-con (maybe 1?)

https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-women/article/2021-11-03/womens-big-ten-basketball-verge-greatness “No question, it’s one more step,” said Michigan State coach Suzy Merchant. “That was good last year and now we’ve all got to take another step forward to maybe get that national prominence and people talking about us on a bigger scale.” Added Barnes Arico, “I also think it starts on the front end. We need to get the respect we deserve and get the seeds that we deserve. Because a lot of times how far you move along in the tournament is dependent upon the seed that you received, and I think we got shunned in some of those areas. But I hope the rest of the country took note (in 2021). I think our league did its part to do its job and win those basketball games. And now the people who are SEC, SEC or ACC, ACC or Pac-12, Pac-12 have to say, `Holy cow, the Big Ten is really good.’”

https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/32538057/the-biggest-questions-women-college-basketball-entering-2021-22-season "Expect Michigan State and Northwestern to be there; the Spartans should improve on last season's No. 10 seed, while the Wildcats aren't expected to be as good as last season's 7-seed. Ohio State should also slide back into the field. Those are the seven teams. Finding that eighth team is difficult. Rutgers was a No. 6 seed and finished third in the Big Ten standings, but the Scarlet Knights suffered massive personnel losses. The rest of the conference has just as much catching up to do. Nebraska, with the addition of Oregon transfer Jaz Shelley and the return of leading scorer Sam Haiby, should have the best chance to get the Big Ten to its record number of tournament teams. But because their nonconference schedule doesn't provide much resume-building material, the Huskers will need to score a few upsets of the teams near the top the conference to do it."

i had no problem with all the three's taken.....would have liked to have seen a few more drop (*cough cough* Ruby?). huskers definitely had good looks on those 3's. did give huskers a chance to work on rebounding. impressed with moriarity and weidner's athleticism and hustle. no doubt---markowski is impressive. jaz had some really nice passes. nothing against midland, but anxious to see some better competition. really can't take too much away from an exhibition game. like someone posted, hope coach sticks with that "hot hand" when it's there.......let'em play it out! don't need to follow the book on rotation. wish the maine game wasn't at noon. just have to watch the replay. i mentioned it before, but, matt coatney stated in an interview about a month or so ago, maine would be there biggest test in the non-con. not sure i agree, however it should be interesting.

around 3000? maybe a little more? wouldn't be bad for an "exhibition". just a guess

Hawkeyes loses another one: IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa women’s basketball sophomore Shateah Wetering suffered a season-ending torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of her left knee in practice. The announcement came Thursday by P. Sue Beckwith, MD, head coach Lisa Bluder. “Shateah (Wetering) was having a terrific preseason when she suffered this injury,” Bluder said. “She was playing confidently and stood out as one of our most improved players from last season. Shateah will use this year to rehab, learn from a coach’s perspective and be an active teammate for her sisters on the team.” -

Ohio State Buckeyes Overall Rank: #14 Conference Rank: #5 Big Ten i was expecting around 18.........#5 in the Big Ten sounds about right.
-
Issie Bourne: 19/60 = .317 i actually forgot she took that many 3's......with the number of 3 point shooters, wonder if Issie will take that many this season? wonder if they have had her working on that mid-range jumper? if i was a betting man, think i just might take the under on that one. definitely see Coley's going way up. won't be long now and we will see.
-
can't argue that... i just think it is really going to be a battle.....i'm hoping for a finish at 6th in the BigTen. i'm guessing it will be a fight with nw, msu, and minnie for that spot.
-
wasn't Sissoko(sp?), the transfer from Syracuse a 5* recruit? she played better the end of last year. if they stay healthy, i could definitely see them finishing around that 6 spot and make NCAA's.

looking over the schedule again: Dec 6th @ Minny Dec 30th @MSU Jan 4th vs Michigan Jan 9th vs Iowa Jan 13th @ Indiana Jan 16th @ Iowa brutal.......can huskers find 3 wins? would be big to pull off wins @minny and @msu. get at least one of those against Michigan and Iowa. it's really going to be interesting. be awful tough to get one @Indiana or @Iowa.
