  1. you are welcome!!! love listening to them talk with that accent! appears Ruby must be a go....from the injury she suffered late last season. never did hear much about it. last thing i heard, coach williams stated something along the lines of it appears they avoided any kind of surgery (i am assuming to the knee?)
  2. https://www.jconline.com/story/news/2021/08/18/purdue-womens-basketball-coach-sharon-versyp-accused-creating-toxic-hostile-environment/8178175002/ "Purdue University is investigating allegations that women’s basketball coach Sharon Versyp created a “toxic and hostile environment” by verbally attacking players, using personal information to “bring them down” and “bullying” a member of her coaching staff, according to an internal document." someone must want Gearlds to takeover now instead of waiting till next season
  3. i check out Volley Talk every now and then. hardly hear a peep about K. Meyer. lots of chatter about everyone else....even the freshman. with all the talent on the roster, wonder if a switch has crossed her mind? there was a mention in one post that she misses track/field and may go that direction. would be interesting if she decided to give wbb a shot (no pun intended). idk, maybe she is progressing at vb.
  4. watched Ware a handful of times when arizona was on tv.......she got good minutes. i'm willing to bet she continues to improve. did not appear timid...not afraid to "bang" around underneath.
  5. Matt Coatney's take on the non-con: great schedule for getting the young players ready. if i heard him correctly, believes Maine may be the toughest opponent. still gushing about Markowski. deep bench.
  6. ok....here are the teams and their NET rankings for 20-21: not sure, does Prairie View A&M exhibition count? 314 don't believe they do Maine 91 Alabama A&M 196 Creighton 93 NC Central 297 Drexel 102 San Diego 112 or Fresno St 82 Wake Forest 53 Indiana St 280 Drake 51 Wyoming 154 i think you need to win at least 2 out of 3 between Drake, Creighton, and Wake Forest. i don't think you want to go into the Big Ten with anymore than 2 losses. really, 0 losses looks very obtainable---maybe 1 hiccup?
  7. haven't looked at the NET ratings for any of these teams.......but, off the top of my head i would say they better come out undefeated.
  8. re: men's and women's ncaa tournaments https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/31952609/women-college-basketball-coaches-hopeful-kaplan-gender-equity-review-instigates-change "Ultimately, the Kaplan report seemed very positive about women's basketball's continued growth potential, in very concrete ways. The report also suggested that it's well past time for various entities inside and outside the NCAA to be working together and communicating constantly. And that this shouldn't be another well-meaning but toothless fact-finding mission that just ends up gathering dusk on a shelf." "I believe our game is in a great place and we have a great opportunity to take advantage of this now," Schaefer said. "What can't happen is that nothing gets changed. This is it. This is the time."
  9. Badgers release non-con schedule: 000 St. Thomas (1st season as DI...Summit League) 341 Chicago State 285 NJIT 211 Eastern Illinois 140 Boise State @ Colorado 105 Green Bay 79 @ Bradley 69 Illinois State 68 @ Milwaukee 45 @ Colorado 33 Virginia Tech

  11. missed this earlier in the week....i wasn't too far off in the post of when he might be gone. https://www.syracuse.com/orangesports/2021/08/syracuse-womens-basketball-coach-quentin-hillsman-has-resigned.html
  12. thank you Red Don for the info on Eidle and Fisher! good to see some news on the recruiting front.
  13. would be interesting to hear Cook's feelings about an athlete participating in two sports at the DI level. Williams also.
  14. yep........found that pretty funny, too.
  15. https://www.startribune.com/paige-bueckers-trademarks-paige-buckets-uconn-hopkins-eyes-1-million-dollars-in-earnings/600084765/ from the article: Bueckers, who became the first freshman in women's college basketball history to win the John Wooden Award and be named the Associated Press Player of the Year and the Naismith College Player of the Year, has filed for a trademark on her nickname, "Paige Buckets," according to a document from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The trademark filing, which was first reported by the New Haven Register, was made on July 13, about two weeks after the NCAA approved the clearance. Buecker's filing includes future revenue from athletic apparel, namely, shirts, pants, jackets, footwear, hats and caps and athletic uniforms. Bueckers filed for the trademark using a Los Angeles address that's associated with the Wasserman Media Group, and the Wall Street Journal reported that she will be represented by agent Lindsay Kagawa Colas. In that same story, the newspaper reported that Bueckers could have earning potential over $1 million, which Bueckers wrote was "a big number for a small town kid."
  16. no doubt....gonna be something to watch.
  17. i completely agree!
  18. this was the first video i have seen of her. i could only go by articles i have read. she appears to be much better than i had envisioned. this could/would be huge for the huskers. a position most covet.
  19. well.....for the most part, nice article by Abby Barmore of the OWH. i just think it's kind of a "strong" headline for someone that hasn't played a college game yet. one could say puts lotta pressure on the freshman. otherwise, good article. https://omaha.com/sports/huskers/womens-basketball/allison-weidner-has-opportunity-for-historic-career-at-nebraska/article_9828ac1e-ee2a-11eb-90dc-23abc40fdc72.html (you may need to be a subscriber---i took the one deal, for, something like $1 for 3 months?) “Her athleticism, her playmaking ability, she can jump, she sees the floor really, really well,” Nebraska Attack coach Zach Isherwood said. “She's an exceptional passer. And she's kind of a pleaser; she wants to get everything right. And she is very, very competitive. And she hates to lose and she craves coaching.” The Weidners drove an hour and 45 minutes one way to Omaha for practice at least twice a week. They also made financial sacrifices for the travel, too. But the cold-meat sandwiches and homework done in the car paid off. Weidner also began training with Thomas Viglianco of Viglianco Hoops. Viglianco, who worked with professional players like Isaiah Roby and Jessica Sheppard, tweaked Allison’s shooting stroke and worked on ball handling during one-on-one game-like situations. Viglianco Hoops, based in Lincoln, was another 90-minute road trip on Sundays.
