omg!!!!!!!! Merry Christmas husker fans!!!
-
i have to believe minny had a height advantage? after the minny-husker game i had a hunch 5* Sissoko was going to be just what minny was looking for. however, doesn't sound like she is even coming close to the game she had against the huskers. i'm sure whalen will be fine........for at least a year or two. she has the excellent class coming in.

don't have any info/stats.....however, i see drake beat minny 77-63!!!

whoopdeedoo replied to whoopdeedoo's topic in Row 6 Seat 10
NCAA wbb rankings..... 5 6 Nebraska Big Ten 11-0 3-0 1-0 7-0 0-0 6th last week....now 5 yes...it's nice, however i take it with a grain of salt -
Markowski and McGowens named B1G Freshmen of the week
whoopdeedoo replied to hhcmatt's topic in Row 6 Seat 10
mcgowans is good! put him on a good team?.........whoa. he is "one and done". -
had to laugh....from tom shatel interview with john cook: Does the coach think he has another national title in him? “Is a frog’s butt watertight?” Cook asked. I’ll take that as a “yes.” The coach laughed and said, “At least my players will know what that means.”

my bias is probably showing.............but, i have always been impressed with coach williams and her interviews. she is a pretty intelligent person. no guarantees how that will form into the coaching arena, but, she is pretty articulate. like i have stated quite awhile ago...she passed up medical degree to become a coach. i would love it if she can roam the Husker sidelines for a long time.
-
i understand what you are saying.........great chemistry, deep bench. however, things are about to get much tougher. hope they can protect PBA. imo, road wins are not gonna come easy, for the most part. but, wow......i think this is one of the best husker teams to come along in awhile.

got a chance at watching the replay this morning. uhhh.....time will tell, however, imo i don't think Drake will have lost much with JB going to Oklahoma. i know they are "her" recruits, but, i was pretty impressed. very, very good execution AND finishing. Drake tries to out hustle you to the ball. good "cutting" team. i see Minny plays at Drake the 23rd. imo, will be rather interesting to see how that goes. wow.......weidner is really interesting to watch. she really looks to go at the rim. love how she followed her shot on that missed 3 and got the rebound. just impressed how this team responds..."ok, you've closed the gap.....take another look!" huskers just have that ability to respond back. not anything new here, but, stewart might have one of the nicest shots on the squad. not that she is gonna score big all the time, but, she has such a nice release. jaz can contribute in so many ways, other than scoring. it's huge for the huskers. i know Markowski has had back to back very good games......however, things are only gonna get tougher for her with the big ten just around the corner. almost all the schools have good post players....especially maryland, indiana, iowa, and michigan (and, i was surprised michigan defeated baylor!). hopefully she can respond. a number of tv shots of the husker bench reactions......chemistry seems so, so good. hope they don't get any "T's" for over celebration in big ten play. anyway, wow, huskers have pretty much taken care of the non-con schedule. a big step on the way at a shot at the NCAA tourney.

42 bench points?!?

just a heads up for those that might be interested. coach williams will be on the radio with matt coatney tonight from 7-8.

huskers getting a mention (equivalent to #30) ok by me....fly under the radar https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/rankings

i'm being rather "reserved" at the moment....trying to hold back a bit of excitement. after maryland, indiana, and possibly iowa...huskers may have a shot at being in that top 5. watched games of Michigan, MSU, NW, and even though NW has that good recruiting class, i think the huskers could be right there with them. yeah, huskers might need a bounce here and there to go their way, but, i think they might have a good shot at fighting for a top 5 position in the Big Ten. no doubt, gotta win some road games. minny is a start. GBR VOLLEYBALL!
-
i am sure the staff tried to get Ryan. funny how things work out----if huskers got her, we may have never seen Jaz! agree, always have enjoyed watching ISU wbb.....although, at times i think Fennelly is a jerk. hard to argue his success though.

thought i would start a thread for anyone that would like to comment on any Big Ten games. Minny vs Michigan: minnesota had a 7 pt lead early in the 3rd quarter (@ Michigan). minny had 21 to's that turned into 29 pts for michigan. Brown and Hillmon lead the way offensively. i was a little surprised Hillmon only had 8 rebounds. seems a bit low for her. Dilk has not returned from her injury. supposedly listed as "day to day". Minny played pretty bad and still hung in there till around middle of the 4th quarter or so. know it's early, and, Dilk isn't playing.....however, that #13 rating for Michigan seems a bit high. maybe things change when Dilk returns. watched Indiana blowout OSU. wow...no doubt Holmes will be right up there for Big Ten POY. if Indiana stays healthy, they could very well give Maryland all they can handle for top spot in the Big Ten. Indiana is good...really good! Maryland did just give SC a run for their money losing by 6 or 7? Maryland was only down by 2 with less than a minute left, i believe. watched ISU defeat Iowa....a few on the Iowa side sure like to make faces at the refs whenever called for a foul....with Clark being the most demonstrative. the two ISU guards are fun to watch (not to mention Joens). Clark not dropping the 3's like she did last season (so far), however, she does get her points. probably need to see a few more husker big ten matches, BUT.....

celebrate the win!!! however, listened to the game with matt and jeff on the way home...repeated numerous times how "ugly" this win will be. hopefully huskers had "one of those games" cause giving up 18 offensive rebounds and 24(?) to's is most likely a recipe for an "L" in the Big Ten---especially on the road. yes!..........Huskers are 10-0!

Jessica Coody with I. Bourne...

i had never heard of the type of injury Paige Beuckers of UConn suffered (non-contact). i kinda wonder if she will play the rest of this season. Geno may be extra careful with this one. here is one opinion about it... Former Orthopedic nurse, now physical rehab, here: this is not a good injury at all despite being better than a ligament injury, clearly. The tibial plateau is right under your knee cap, and directly involved in the stability of several tendons. Depending on the severity of her fracture it’s possible that the entire plateau broke off the tibia as well, which is called a displaced fracture. The treatment is generally no surgery but it’s full (typically more like 8-12 weeks) non-weight bearing on that leg depending on progress and her personal recovery time (note: it’s usually a 3-4 month recovery time so even 6-8 weeks seems very optimistic). She’ll be wearing a knee immobilizer as well the entire time to prevent her from bending her knee while the bones re-knit in place. She’ll definitely not be in game shape for a while even after her recovery as she won’t be able to do exercise that leg at all essentially.
