Kennesaw State (4-7) vs. Nebraska (5-7) Game Thread
busticket replied to Bugeaters1's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
It seems like Fred taking Bryce and Keisei out after I’ll advised threes is helping. We are working it for better looks now. -
That’s the narrative we have been fed here a long time. And then you look at guys like Mel Tucker, Bob Stoops or….. Scott Frost at UCF. But yeah, basketball is much easier to turn to your point. That is why I am so disappointed in Fred right now.

The OP is very well said. I think most of us are there. I always pointed at year three to know what we have. Well……
-
Were you channeling Ed McMahon? I think that’s how you spell his name. I previously butchered Jim….err John…Beilein so don’t hold me to it.
-
Anderson was a baller. One of my favorite Huskers of the last 20 years. I’m not sure he’s even shoot well with this offense
-
I’ll add that to my travel itinerary
-
Lat is my least favorite.

Jaron Boone. And it isn’t even close. That’s not a defense of Bryce’s defense at all. Boone was epically atrocious to the level you knew the Conference player of the week was the guy Jaron was guarding. Bryce is merely terrible. I want to say he is young and will get better, but he looks like he played way too much AAU ball.

Green light baby. I honestly hate watching Bryce play. It’s not just he shoots threes and is bad at it. It is the horrible shot selection and momentum killing decisions he makes. He will take a 27 foot contested step back three less than 10 seconds into the shot clock. And then you’ll see him glide effortlessly to the basket for an easy layup when a driving lane is available. It’s maddening to watch.

Depends. Who are they being coached by?
-
He’d be perfect for this team….

It’s a Nebraska thing

I noticed that too. I had a hard time blaming him for attacking because the rest of the team just didn’t have it. I was just disappointed that is what we devolved to after the NC State game. To me that was a a critical point for the team. Either we would be galvanized by that loss or we would tank. Looking like the latter as of right now…. -

Point taken. Is there a laughing/crying emoji? This team is terrible at passing. Walker may be our best passer. -

Good catch. I couldn’t look away from the train wreck to see that. -

I hope Fred is seriously looking at his system and players like he said after the game. This is not remotely working with this group of kids. When you are this bad shooting, we need to slow it down and grind it out. Something had to change to see if the lights will go on in their heads. We just look so dysfunctional right now. And put Trevor in the darn game. Maybe he can actually hit a three. -
I personally don’t care if a coach has coached in the NBA. Actually, I would prefer they didn’t. Just like NFL coaches going to college football…it’s a different game. I liked Fred because of his ISU background. I would take Jim Beilein because of his Michigan success.

Keeping Up with Old Friends (The Transferred Thread)

Kevin Cross with 13 assists today for Tulane. And 16 points on 7-7 shooting. -
For me it has krept to warm. I am huge on PG play. Once upon a time I heard college basketball is a guard’s game. I still believe that to this day. And our PG play and recruiting seems like Fred is throwing $%#t against the wall and seeing what sticks. I still haven’t seen a true PG being targeted by the staff and it really may be our undoing. Real world example of the impact of this. If you didn’t notice during last night’s game, there were multiple times where we were actually passing the ball around the perimeter, and the shooter received the ball in a way they had to adjust to gather the pass instead of catching it clean for a pure shot. A good pass would have been step in three point attempts which are a heck of a lot easier to knock down.

Not sure I can handle over dribbling because I have never seen that work in a team environment but I get what you mean. I don’t care if Bryce takes 30 shots if it is the right basketball play. If you are open, go. If not, move the ball. Problem is he hasn’t figured that out yet. Pressed way too much right now. Hopefully it will come around. He is young after all. -

There needs to be a face palm emoji added to the list -

Probably my biggest recruiting disappointment with Fred is he doesn’t prioritize true PG’s. And it shows. A lot. -
I am still alive and kicking. I picked 1, and I was thinking KSU.
