  1. the Adidas contract agrees to outfit all sports...some all sports benifit from Adidas, if a kid is going to pick a school based on their on uniform, ill say it once, and ill say it again. I dont want em. I doubt it is ever the main reason a kid picks a certain school.....but it can be one reason a kid doesn't pick a certain school. When you have the lack of tradition we have, it certainly doesn't help to be outfitted by the brand that most kids don't prefer.
  2. I'm glad we've at least contacted Andrew White. I think he could be a beast after a redshirt year playing against and learning from Petteway and Shields.
  3. Here is his Twitter page. Try not to argue with him: https://twitter.com/Superstar_mall
  4. Kinda reminds me of "Sak" Henry.
  5. I feel like Faux Pelini is now a bigger celebrity than Bo Pelini
  6. Call up these 4 transfer players: Andrew White III Terry Henderson Robert Carter Jr. Jamal Jones
  7. I wonder how he'll feel next year when UNLV has to make room for their next "top priority" recruit. I can't see Jordan playing much with 5-star wings Rashad Vaughn and Dwayne Morgan also coming in. Deville Smith is a senior-to-be and was the starting PG most of the year, averaged 10 points per game, and they are just willing to run him off for a 3-star recruit? That would raise a red flag if I were Jordan or his parents.
  8. Unfortunatly I think you are correct. Eventually we will start beating out some of these schools but when UNLV comes calling it's hard to turn them down. Why? Because it's a big city with casinos? Lots of recruits turn them down every year. What's so special about UNLV that you think we can't compete with them? I mean, if you had said, " ... but when Duke comes calling it's hard to turn them down" I could understand it. But UNLV? What's so special about them? The slot machines? The hookers? What? In Jordan's case I think it's about playing with his buddy Rashad Vaughn. Style of play is also a factor. Why do you think Iowa keeps getting good recruits? Because they score the ball. UNLV has the "Runnin' Rebels" tradition of uptempo basketball. Our identity for the last 15 years has been slow, low-scoring basketball. Even with Petteway last year we were still like 275th in scoring offense.
  9. Our coach left the little MWC to move up to the Big Ten. Come play in a real league, Jordan.

  11. We should be putting the full-court press on Andrew White III. I know he probably wants to transfer closer to home, but it's time for Kenya Hunter to start earning that salary. I would think Miles could get his attention by showing him how much Petteway improved during his redshirt transfer year.
  12. Is there any indication that Morrow has interest in Illinois? Someone on here told me he's only interested in teams that have been recruiting him for a long time.
  13. I wonder if our walk-ons secretly hope that he doesn't choose us? Could be 2 open scholarships for them next year.
  14. I lost hope as soon as I found out he knows Adam Barnes. Have we ever landed a recruit who works with "Coach" Barnes? I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but it always seems like they end up signing with somebody else.
  15. Maybe if this thread gets to 20 pages, it will bring us good luck in recruiting
  16. It sounds like Kenya did try to recruit him "White’s recruitment has been one that put college coaches on a roller coaster and gave them a long ride. Just last weekend, Georgetown dispatched an assistant coach to Charlotte to see him play. The Hoyas were all in on White as assistant Kenya Hunter came straight from Maui."
  17. It's Andrew White III. Kenya Hunter tried to recruit him to Georgetown, so we might have a connection there.
  18. As I understand it, and per an article in the Chicago Tribune a couple years ago, I don't believe that is the case. I seem to recall it was family related. The Morrows do not strike me as the type that are overly infatuated with getting maximum exposure for their son. And further, Edward himself was quoted not long ago as saying that even if high-majors started banging down his door, he wanted to play for one of the schools that had been with him from the beginning. Minnesota, Nebraska, etc. People seem to keep waiting for the shoe to drop on Morrow and some bluebloods to swoop in and grab him. I'd be more worried about the schools that have been after him as long as we have. I hope so. Here are some interesting quotes from an article from Bloomberg "Chicago offers a bigger stage, more opportunities to get noticed, more chances to win that golden ticket: a college scholarship." "Edward’s family believes that staying in Nebraska would have robbed him of the training and spotlight a player needs to win a full ride to college."
  19. We all love what Miles has done so far, but I think it's perfectly fine to express concerns about recruiting. Nobody expects McDonald's All-Americans, but we need to start landing some recruits in the 75-150 range. Ed Morrow would be a good start, but I have a feeling he will eventually get some big-name offers and head elsewhere (remember his family moved him out of Nebraska to get more exposure). Huskerinexile - Morrow is the real deal. He held his own vs. both Okafor and Cliff Alexander, who were both 5-star recruits. His motor is incredible - think Terran Petteway, only more athletic. If his outside shot continues to develop, he could become a dominant Big Ten player.
  20. I love Coach Miles, but I'm starting to lose some optimism about his ability to close with recruits. I know we'll never compete with the likes of KU for recruits.....but pretty soon we need to start beating out the likes of Baylor, LSU, and Auburn. Not getting any visitors for "No Sit Sunday" was also a big disappointment.
  21. Ed is going to blow up like Myles Turner did last year. I know we have the family connections with Ed, but I think it's only a matter of time before the big-time programs come after him.
