Your last paragraph is my point. Never said he was flawless. But funny now that he is transferring, only his flaws show. 6 hours ago, the 7 game stretch he missed, was a huge down turn for the program. Fast forward 7 hours and .....good riddance

Think the situations are quite a bit different

I love the bash Ed posts now.

I certainly don't consider people a success just because their predecessor was a turd and the current performance is mediocre and not bad

Why is that so shocking? Bo: Improved over Callahan in terms of wins and losses. Acted liked a baby when he couldn't even produce top 25 teams let alone Saban type teams Miles: You feel good about where we are headed? Erstad: Improvement over Anderson, still a middle of the pack team in a middle of the pack (at best) baseball conference with tremendous facilities. Not exactly a good definition of success there. Had s couple of guys who the best thing you can say for them, was that they weren't bad

Poor leadership. It's not just the head coach though

Can't really fault him. Can easily see us 13th. Can also see us 7th or 8th too. That stretch from 8-13 is going to be a mess. -
Mark Donnal leaving Michigan

Peyton Banks of Penn State and Nigel Johnson of Rutgers both grad transferring. Both contributors to a few Big 10 teams this year.

Think it is more about role than pure playing time too. I think most players (stress most) probably understand where they stand as freshmen in regards to status against upper classmen. Knowing that you will play 12 minutes a night in a specific role I think is easier to take than averaging 15 minutes a night but seeing your time shoot up and down at any given time for no apparent reason (especially when the teams performance is sporatic). That being said....also think we want guys that expect to play. Probably means they are competitive and have some talent behind their game. Be a bit worried if a guy was coming in to expecting to redshirt on a below average team.

This is my issue with this argument. First off...Copeland has produced exactly zero here thus far. Now...I think his ceiling if healthy is off the charts and is an NBA caliber prospect, but also think it is fair to wait to see what happens with him. Second....we don't know what other dominoes would have fallen in the meantime. Maybe with added depth Fuller would have transferred sooner. Maybe we don't take Horne, who transfers out after a year. Maybe we would have been more selective and not given Evelyn a spot two years ago. Or maybe Palmer is the odd one out. Maybe with the added depth last year in the frontcourt we win an extra game or two and White feels better about our chances to dance and stays. Blah blah blah. Point is we don't know how things would've come out. Would I take Roby or Copeland over him..absolutely. And in no way am I saying that we made a mistake with him. I agree with you in that I don't think he's a dynamic player. Just saying I don't get the dodged the bullet comment considering our depth issues the last two years and would have most certainly preferred him over a Fuller. Maybe I just struggle with the better off without approach over said player when we are sitting here with the success we've had.
