  1. I think some teams have noticed that they can take a charge from her. She's a bit slow in her first step, enabling a defender to get set for the charge. She might be better off popping up for the jump shot.
  2. To be honest, when I saw the replay of Banham hitting the game winning 3, it looked like a Gopher had a moving screen that got her open.
  3. We absolutely have to win those last 3 home games. Maybe the ugly loss to Minnesota resulted in a more focused team - that would be one good thing to come out of that. And if we wind up playing Minnesota again in the Big10 tourney, maybe put Cincore on Banham?

  5. Did Iowa just let Banham shoot the game winning three? Ha ha ha!!
  6. The last few games she had Cincore, Kalenta, and Burns come off the bench. I also think Kalenta has done some good things recently. May not score a lot of points, but she can come in and give a solid few minutes to spell someone. Would like to see Maddie in that rotation as well. But maybe Yori doesn't feel like she's quite ready yet (based on practices we don't see). Is Esther still sick? Was anyone injured for yesterday's game? One thing with Kalenta - she is definitely capable of scoring. Cannot leave her unguarded, same with Havers. I think about the only ones other teams may not guard closely are Clark and Esther.
  7. My only concern with Cincore is she has a tendency to get in some foul trouble. If she starts, she may just pick up her fouls even sooner and then have to sit until the second half. I think putting Maddie in there to absorb some of those fouls if not score might work, as long as she isn't turning the ball over.

  9. I think Maddie played well the past few games when she came off the bench. I was hoping to see her yesterday - at least for a few minutes - but no such luck. Allie sometimes has tunnel vision when making a pass. It's like she cannot see the defender that is close by. Jess would sometimes do that in HS, but I do feel she has improved. The past 3-4 games, it seems to me that about 3 players have worked on their shooting: Romeo, Cincore, and Simon. When Cincore hit that 3 at the end of the first quarter, it was a huge confidence builder. Also, did anyone notice we only had 3 points at the 5 minute time-out yesterday? We cannot start slow like that. Against really good teams that absolutely kills us (I think MSU is over-rated a bit). I cannot remember when Cincore came in the game in the 1st Q, but I'm willing to bet it was when our offense picked up a bit and our defense improved. She was a spark yesterday, a much needed spark.
  10. Just looked up her bio on the MSU website. She was a shot putter in HS. http://www.msuspartans.com/sports/w-baskbl/mtt/jasmine_hines_770288.html
  11. The Cinco we saw yesterday is the Cinco I have been waiting to see all season. And she hit some important shots, plus her steals, and her ability to get under Powers' skin. Don't mess with Cinco - she will mess you up!
  12. Hines is built like a shot putter. I watched on TV yesterday and didn't have a negative impression of her, just thought she was a strong girl, maybe a tad frustrated toward the end but nothing like Powers. Dang, Powers should have just been benched. I know at one time the coach pulled her out when she was starting to lose it, but then she came right back in and had a meltdown. Can't wait to watch Cinco guard her again next year. Or maybe in the Big10 tourney this year! Did anyone see Powers when she shoulder bumped Burns as she was walking off the court? Burns really gave her a look - good for her!
  13. Jankoska doesn't score until final seconds. Go figure.
  14. Stupid ref missed the first fouls Powers had on Jazz. Then he finally calls the second but she should have also been teed up!
  15. Cinco really in Powers' head!!!
  16. Need to close this one out.
  17. Cinco playing good D and scoring points - we need that!!!
  18. I really don't get how he has Iowa in there. Minny should be above both Iowa and Indiana.
  19. That really says something in that she didn't feel the need to guard Theriot.
  20. Rutgers Indiana Purdue Ohio State Maryland Michigan State Minnesota
  21. 110 points ties the record for most points scored against the Husker women. Ouch.
  22. Theriot didn't score much but she did have 13 assists to make up for it. Really needed Clark to score but it just wasn't happening.
  23. Simon and Cinco should get more minutes from here on out.
  24. Out rebounded 31 to 20.
