  1. She made a huge mistake by committing to the program at such a young age. She didn't want to be here and it really showed, especially her final year at NU. The program is better off without her - it's Romeo that we really missed.
  2. So were the refs at the end when they didn’t whistle Mabrey for that foul.
  3. We do have that Moos connection to Wash St. to help us out. And wasn’t her coach fired? If she applied for a waiver she might get it based on some things NCAA has done recently, but you never really know with them.
  4. B1G is a major VB conference - has that hurt WBB? If so, how? Is it possible to be a big-time nationally competitive conference in both those women's sports?
  5. Seems like she had a lot of foul trouble.
  6. So about the only way is if she is getting her degree in 3 years instead of 4. I don’t think she is 22 this year but I could be wrong.
  7. Does she (or can she) leave for the WNBA already? I wondered about that after her performance last night.
  8. Ok, ladies. Wake up
  9. I think Bria and Janay need to be out there most of the rest of the game.
  10. Ekmark just got RB’d!!
  11. Dang, would have been nice to have gotten Ibis.
  12. I’d be willing to schedule UConn again. Tough game but we could learn a lot from it.
  13. I actually don't really care to play Creighton every year. Not sure a win is much of a gain for us and a loss certainly hurts. But I imagine with it being an in-state rivalry we will always have them on the schedule. Unless one of the schools has an issue with Yori advising Creighton and not wanting to cause some sort of weird athletic department issue by playing against her former employer.
  14. Is it a bit of a fluke that all of those teams got in the tourney this year? I wouldn't want to play all 3 next year because I'm betting most of the time only one of them gets in the tourney. I may be very wrong about that, feel free to correct me.
  15. Who would you like to see us schedule non-con next season? If we had had a bit tougher non-con, we may not have needed to sweat it out so much during the selection show. At the same time, we needed those easier games to build confidence in our young players this season. Next season is a different story, though. I think we can schedule a couple of tougher teams early on to get our RPI and SOS a bit stronger. Would be nice to schedule some teams that we also stand a decent chance of beating. I've always wondered about Stanford. Sometimes it seems Stanford starts slow but then rallies at the end of the year. Not sure how we match up, but I'd like to think it would be a good game and it's a team we have rarely played (have we ever played?). How about an Ivy League school? Not sure why I'm stuck on the smart schools right now but I am. There are some solid mid-major schools out there that might be worth scheduling. I think we played South Dakota State a few times several years ago, and there are usually the team to beat in the Summit League. Coach is certainly familiar with them. Any thoughts?
  16. Did anyone notice how ESPN had NC State as a Big 10 Team?
  17. Congrats to the Huskers! And OU never should have made it in.
  18. Isn’t Lindsey Moore on staff at ASU?
  19. Shit we made it!!!
  20. Yeh, I don’t have a good feeling looking at some of these teams that got in.
  21. Surprised Virginia got in.
  22. I’m thinking we are WNIT bound.
  23. Buried themselves to start the game with the jacks up 11-0. Played fairly evenly after that. Not surprised. They seem to fall apart in the conference tourney.
  24. AAU and club works for some kids, but for many it really doesn't. Drawing on my own brief experience with my daughter in a couple of club sports (soccer and basketball) in Omaha/Lincoln areas - the least athletic kids I've ever seen in my life were on expensive club soccer teams in Omaha. They had a lot of fun playing on teams that were competitive in the area (although not as competitive regionally or nationally) and traveling all over the country (and sometimes outside of the country) to play in tournaments. Parents and kids had a blast. Then kid got burned out or didn't make the HS team or just decided to quit. I wasn't one to throw money at a club just to get my kid on a team and I certainly didn't play politics to get my kid on a club team or a HS team, but we did manage to find a soccer club and a basketball club that rewarded effort and skill and those were two very good experiences for her. But I would say there are fewer of those clubs out there than there should be. She was involved in HS sports in class C and then class A. Both of those schools had head coaches that told her she needed to give up other sports to focus solely on basketball. She didn't want to do that, so she walked away from basketball but still played on coed intramural basketball teams in HS and had a lot of fun playing with the guys. In fact, there were around half a dozen girls we knew that were very good club basketball players and could have played varsity in HS had they wanted to give up other sports, but they refused so they played intramurals instead and wound up getting college scholarships in sports other than basketball. I hated to see stuff like that, but it is what it is.
  25. Creme has South Dakota State getting in even if they lose the Summit League Championship today. I believe that game is at 1 today. If SDSU wins, I doubt USD gets in. The Yotes have won both times they played the Jackrabbits this season and the Yotes went undefeated in conference play, but something tells me those pesky Jackrabbits will have their number today. For Nebraska, it's probably better to have SDSU win (because then only 1 team from the Summit League makes it in), but I cannot bring myself to cheer for SDSU. Just. Can't. Do. It.
