I think its hard for a kid that comes in off the bench cold for 2-3 minutes to chuck shots right away. Anytime Fuller got 8 minutes or more he made shots and got rebounds we needed. As we have all notice there is really 2 plays. One for Terran on the pick and roll/pop and one for Shavon on the curl through the lane. Otherwise I think everyone else is on their own to score. This is not a very good Nebraska offense to get more players involved. I really like the swing offense because everyone is involved and moving. The Really bad stat line is Pitchford playing over 30 minutes a game and getting less than 5 points and 5 rebounds a game in Bigten play for a 6'10 guy in his second year of alot of playing time.

I just see a team that doesn't look like we are getting better and the same issues keep happening over and over. Maybe this is not the right offense for this team. I just dont see alot of movement on offense.

What's up with Nick Fuller

Its the first time I have ever seen a kid (Fuller) come off the bench in two straight games and play well helping the team, then never see the floor again.. Something is very odd -
What's up with Nick Fuller

Whats the Deal with Nick Fuller. He had two pretty good games when he played getting rebounds and scoring. Give him 10-15 minutes I know he would put up the numbers on offense with his hustle plays. That crap about he cant play Defense. I watch him closely on the games he played and only one person scored on him and it was a pull up 3 pointer by Uthoff in transition. Something else must be up. -
Tai and Nick and a word of caution
extremehoops replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Why is that? In just 11 and 13 minutes vs Iowa and Rutgers Fuller produced more than Tai has in the past what...6 games? Tai may be the better athlete of the two but in the short sample size I have seen Fuller appears to be the smarter basketball player right now. And more importantly...someone who can put the ball in the hoop from time to time or at the very least, make the defender guard him. I am not looking at the stat sheet - just watching the game. I am not down on Nick by any means but he is a long ways from being comfortable on the floor at this point. He did get some nice hustle rebounds - but he also made a couple pretty obvious mistakes that were worse than anything I can remember seeing from Tai. He seemed to me to be very nervous when he was in the backcourt trying to break the press - and the Rutgers press was child's play compared to what we saw against Cincy and a couple others (and compared to what we will run into the rest of the season). Again - that is to be expected somewhat given his lack of experience and more playing time will certainly help. But regardless of what any stats from their limited minutes might say - I don't think you have to watch very long to conclude that Tai is a better ball handler than Nick at this point. Tai Webster has played 992 minutes in the last year and a half and Nick Fuller 52 minutes total. Tai Webster has gotten starter minutes against non-conference and bigten teams to get better. Nick Fuller has got most of his minutes against bigten quality teams and taking a look at that those comparison I think Fuller looks more comfortable on the floor than Webster has to date with 900+ less minutes under his belt. -

It would of been nice if Fuller saw more time in the non conference games to build his game and confidence more before the start of the Bigten, so to finally get his feet wet, Fuller doing it against much better teams in the Bigten is impressive so far as a role player. I thought his defense was respectable when he was in. After last night Tai Webster just isnt a spark or helps the team enough when he was in there compared to what Fuller has done with less minutes than Tai was getting before. -
Here is what I heard. The Coaching staff was still sour about Agau running them around the first time and said you weren't good enough yet, so I am going to Louisville. That was a hard take for them last time, so this time around Miles and the staff did not roll out the red carpet and jump through hoops for Agau and then Agau played Marquette and Georgetown against them again and Miles said don't bother, we got nothing here for you and pulled the offer.

Dont we already have the best from down under in the 2013 class, Tai Webster. I just dont think the talent is that good or other colleges would of offered him to and only LSU has shown interest but I dont think he had a offer from them

uneblinstu's Post Game Chatter: ed 7, vol 14 - Iowa
extremehoops replied to uneblinstu's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
BTN said last night Nebraska is 2nd in the nation for least amount of players used per game. I cannot believe that our reserves are 320th+ in the country bad not to use them. This was before last night so maybe Coach Miles will decide to use Fuller and Smith more -

I was kind of watching Fuller closely on Defense as people said he was really bad on defense but I did not think he did any worse off than Rivers did on Defense. He boxed out good and did not get beat off the dribble. Fuller only got beat on a transition pull up 3 pointer. Fuller is a little bigger than Rivers is, Just give Fuller 5-10 minutes to help keep others fresh. -

If Fuller got Websters minutes that would help in alot of areas As Fuller gets more comfortable he could help -

Rivers plugs up the driving lanes. He is not a post or perimeter player Just get out of the way -

It seems like Fuller helps spread the floor and create driving lanes -
7 PLAYERS ISNT GETTING IT DONE
extremehoops replied to extremehoops's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
You must of missed a few things on defense as a expert fan. Indiana scored 70 points. The whole team was exposed badly on defense and beat on the boards the entire night -
Indiana, Creighton, Hawaii ect all played more than 8 guys and kept guys fresh to beat us down the stretch. Nebraska has ran the wheels off this team and the players looked tired last night. Players loose concentration and shots are usually short when they are fatigued. Coach Miles needs to see the big picture and pacing your team so they still have legs with 8 minutes left in a game to go for the wins. You need to develop your bench just not give up on them. You recruited these players and to leave them to rot on the bench doesn't help the big picture of the season when its clear the team needs some help.. I'm not saying the reserves need 15 to 20 minutes but 5-8 minutes could help the overall team be more fresh and you need to trust and use your bench to win games. I watch Michigan yesterday they have been having troubles too and they used alot of their bench to find different combinations and it worked. I have not thought that Fuller and/or Hammonds were that negative to the overall team when they were in,

When you need more guys to drop some shots. Give Fuller and Hammonds a few to see what they can do. -
