Huskerpapa got a reaction from HuskermavfanChuck in Peltz Out For Ohio State
Mike is far from a star, yet he plays an important role on this team. Hope he is not out long.

You need players that can roles along with the players who will star. We are just not used to getting the stars.

Huskerpapa got a reaction from hhcmatt in Noah
Very well done article. I wish more students could take lessons from Noah at the games. Noah brings the party to the game. Love the article, and good for Noah.

Huskerpapa got a reaction from hhcmatt in Ubel article
Lee Bee did a terrific job with this article. Well deserved, and I hope that the fans soon recognize the quality that Brandon brings to the program...

Huskerpapa got a reaction from Norm Peterson in Uneblinstu's post-game chatter, volume 5, edition 11
Don't know where uneblinstu is at...so I will get this started for him!
The good, the bad, and the ugly…that about sums it up.
The good:
Shavon looked very good tonight. He will take it to the hole, while staying under control. He plays hard, he makes his free throws, he looks like he is under control and knows what he can do.
Ubel had a double-double. Nice to see. He short armed a shot, but otherwise, I thought Brandon played a good game tonight.
We had breakdowns at the end of the game tonight…which we need to correct, but our defense after the first five minutes, and until about the seven minute mark towards the end of the game, was decent
Our bigs played pretty decent
We won the jump
The bad:
Turnovers…bad
Defense at the beginning, and then the end of the game…awful.
When many in the crowd decided to leave at about the seven minute mark, our players decided to leave (in a figurative manner) at the same time
The ugly:
Our guard play.
Break downs with our offensive scheme.

Huskerpapa got a reaction from hhcmatt in Tim Miles radio show
Deverell looks like a player. He has a serious skills, but sometimes a kid with those skills never had to push himself to refine those skills. If both Deverell and Coach Miles recogonize those weaknesses, and is willing to work hard to refine the game, we will celebrate the results.
I always look at the paths of two players...Strickland and Boone. Both had skills and talent. I always thought that Erick busted his a*# and refined his skills and it took him to the NBA. Jaron always seemed to underacheive or so it seemed. Let's hope that Deverell takes the path of Erick...

Huskerpapa got a reaction from TheGov21 in During Christmas Time, you can be the Red Zone
I understand this is a necessary evil...yet it is still depressing that even over the break, we cannot find students to fill the red zone. Here is an idea, offer Lincoln Public and Private school students $1 tickets for those games. I think the HS students would bring a bit of excitement to the floor rather than parents, grandparents and others. Just a thought.

Huskerpapa got a reaction from Norm Peterson in OWH article on Mike Peltz
Per an article in the LJS, he has the green light to shoot. I read somewhere on this board that he did not have that permission. Anyone see Cool Hand Luke...
Coach Miles: You gonna get used to wearing them chains after a while, Mike. Don't you never stop listening to them clinking, they gonna remind you about what I been saying for your own good.
Mike: I wish you'd stop being so good to me, Coach Miles.
Coach Miles: Don't you ever talk that way to me. (pause, then hitting him) NEVER! (Mike rolls down hill; to other players) What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men.

Given the fact that Dana is from Wiillllbbbuurrr, he likely would perfer a Kolache!

Huskerpapa got a reaction from Norm Peterson in OWH article on Mike Peltz
I have nothing but respect for Peltz. That said, if he is playing significant time next year, we will not be vastly improved. In fact, if he is playing anywhere close to the minutes he is playing this year...one word...yikes!

Huskerpapa got a reaction from Norm Peterson in Some updates ...
When I look at the lack of depth on our team, and see the above names, I kind of shake my head. But ya know what, that is the past, now it is the time to look at the future. I hope Coach Miles and our assistants can close on some of the names that we have seen looking at us.

You kind of made me chuckle GATA - I wonder how often Duke basketball has to deviate from their A list? I trust it would not be often. Also, doesn't Duke have higher academic requirements then many other schools? Given the big guy is in a prep school, perhaps he does not fit into their fine institution?

Huskerpapa got a reaction from Cookie Belcher in It was torture watching the game.
...it wasn't too fun watching the game in person either. But hey, CU is a pretty good team and we, well we have a long way to go.

Perhaps something is in the works (rumor monger) that we are not aware of (rumor monger). We do have an empty spot on the staff...by the way, someone please buy Erick a red shirt!!!
