It's going to be so interesting to watch how this all goes. Really exceptional talent in both hoops and volleyball for her to excel with. -

OH! @Huskerpapa that's a great one!I Forgot Wilson Thomas. What a great athlete that guy was! And @huskerchodeForgot about the Davis boys doing some track/field. Or at least one of them did IIRC, throw the discus. There's just an intrinsic, extra piece of beauty present in the athletes that do more than one sport. They're not doing it because they have to, they attempt it because they LOVE it. Nothing is more beautiful than love on display. -

The reason I say under the radar is these two didn't end up playing two sports. #1, which counts IMO, would be Amanda Buchholz. She shows up on the 1999 Women's hoops roster but never played a game that I'm aware of. She was to play basketball and softball but ended up finishing out her Husker playing career at shortstop. Was also eternally a fan because of Ogallala's slaying of the South Sioux City giant in 1999 at the State Tournament. When you're from out west, none of the teams you play are ever taken seriously at State. That was a fun one for us hayseeds. Buchholz ended up coaching for NU as well and last time I knew, was still coaching softball somewhere at a Power 5 school. #2 I kind of blew up between then and now. In my memory, Eric Strickland was on loan at one point to the football team as they prepped for a bowl game or something but I couldn't find anything on it. Some of the older folks probably remember/know that Strickland could have competed in four sports at NU if he wanted to and coaches were willing. Tanner Farmer is the most recent I can recall that competed for two teams, Football and Wrestling. Also will be looking up Keith Nuebert @Huskerpapa that's one I didn't know and was hoping there would be at least one of those in here. @KarlHessEatMy.... Those two ladies were fun to watch for sure. @12dozen Props for mentioning The King - Erstad and of course Miracle Matt. And Havers/Meyer/Cepero as well. -

This is so exciting! Happy for both programs. Multi-sport athletes are special and its going to be super fun as a fan to watch. When it works, its beautiful to see. Just thrilled that it's a Nebraska kid attending UNL in this case. Who are your favorite multi-sport Huskers - male or female? I have a couple that I thought were pretty under the radar so I thought I'd ask you all and see what you got. -
Tinpanalley - I have been keeping an eye on these girls since your post. This team is pretty nice! I'm getting into it. Right now they're undefeated in the B1G and our valued neighbors to the East are scheduled for a game tomorrow. https://huskers.com/news/2022/4/10/softball-ferrell-leads-huskers-to-win-over-spartans.aspx

I think Dr. Mi'Cole Cayton sounds terrific! Will be cheering for her wherever she lands. And good luck Ruby Porter!

Thomas More vs. Dordt (Championship) is airing tonight on ESPN3. Always great basketball to watch and I'm sure it'll be a good one again tonight in the Championship. Schedule | Watch ESPN Nice write up from the Sioux City Journal https://siouxcityjournal.com/sports/college/basketball/women/watch-now-dordt-puts-up-a-fight-to-earn-spot-in-tuesdays-naia-womens-basketball/article_30ffcc93-de35-59b4-941a-6dda94522380.html that does mention Verbeek was the GPAC Player of the Year this season for Dordt.

What a great game that was!
-
Basketball gods weren't on our side today. Getting there was a good start for next season. Go Big Red!
-
So excited! GBR! Rooting for my first upset of the day Let's go Yotes! Ole Miss about to get upset.
-
You should be able to browse right to it from Huskers.com under Multimedia/Audio Archives. Edit shout out to Husker fans in Indy! Not only does the crowd make it sound like a home game on the radio (as Matt/Jeff pointed out), same on the BTN replays.
-
What a joy to listen to (thanks Matt and Jeff!) from the road and now watch the replays. This is a really, really fun team that should make any Husker fan proud to watch.
-
Never thought I'd see MiCole Cayton playing for the Huskers and here she is on senior day. Rooted for Cal because of her and now this is great to see. Way to go coach for bringing her back!
-
What in heaven's name is a player calling a radio guy from the road for? That is the weirdest development of all. Old school radio guy...stop stepping on your partner when it's his turn to speak. That was a painful segment to listen to and if that's the norm, yuck.

Seems like they should be correcting their hostile UI on the site. Even given 12dozen's instructions it's still not easy to find. I was trying to "click back" on the 'Live Events' section and couldn't (to the left of the Purdue logo). It's the graphic banner above live events you can page back and forth on. Then you just click the graphic as it is in the above snip to launch the replay. Very hostile UI IMO.

This is a great subject. If I wanted to watch a replay of the game vs. Michigan where would i see that at if I'd missed setting my DVR? Probably sitting with Tom looking for a replay on BTN? It doesn't seem to be on BTN+. I'm sure because it aired on BTN live so that makes it a different tier of content. That's my understanding of how it works IIRC. Thanks 12dozen! BTN+ site is just not very friendly.

When in Linclon, Get Thee to PBA (for Tomorrow's game vs # 22 IOWA)

Really enjoyed seeing this on the Huskers.com front page today. What an outstanding team effort. They looked tough and focused. Would also add that I thought the last two shots taken in the game were rather poetic. -
Matt just mentioned what HUD said....that they backed out just hours before Senior day last year. I'd forgotten about all of that.
-
At the conclusion of the Wyoming game Matt mentioned that he thought the Huskers really wanted a shot at MSU. Is there something there I'm not remembering? Pretty sure both those games were wins last year. Is it just because they're the next conference opponent and an opportunity for a precious road win? Or something more?
-
i missed this game earlier :(. JeffG has already pulled out the Courtney Paris reference and we're only in the first quarter. Impressed so far. edit: Ashley Scoggin is probably my favorite JC transfer of all time. I think, right now, that would be regardless of sport. OK, so maybe Lavonte David was pretty good so I'm going to call it a tie. So steady and solid from day 1 to now. Just a big fan of her work.
-
Is this a local grade school team playing over the half? Looks like they're having a lot of fun.
-
What a fun team to watch. Just exciting. Maybe the most fun team I can remember watching in some time. This is the kind of ball you want to watch. Where if you mention one or two players names you missed out on giving some shine to five or six others. Love it. Wonderful discussion by Matt with MiCole Cayton after the game on the radio broadcast.

Tired of it is not saying I think she's done. But that she may be tired of the constant media circus that jobs like Baylor/UCONN carry with it. Maybe Mulkey is the reason Baylor is Baylor, I don't know, but we're all going to find out.
-
Found this to be extremely interesting, especially since I wondered during the season if she was just tired of it. Things she said and did that didn't really break character, but appeared extreme and perhaps exhibited lack of care/fear what Baylor admin might have to say about it. Makes perfect sense.
