What's odd is that it seems like our plans B, C and D to Atewe are actually better players/prospects than Atewe.

From CollegeBasketballTalk... FORT WAYNE, In. — Malek Harris was merely a blip on the high-major radar before the month of April, but thanks to the April live evaluation period, he’s now one of the hottest names in the midwest for high-major programs. The new attention from the college coaches and the media has even become a bit of a new running joke for Harris and his Illinois Wolves teammates. Mid-interview, Harris’ coach with the Illinois Wolves, Mike Mullins, yelled across the floor to Harris, “C’mon, “Hollywood,” we’re all going to bed with or without you,” which elicited a big grin from Harris as his teammates roared with laughter. After the week Harris had on the recruiting front, there is much to smile about. Just this week St. Louis, Creighton, Oregon State, Marquette, Kansas State and Auburn all offered Harris a scholarship to go along with previous scholarship offers from Illinois State, Miami of Ohio, DePaul and Iowa. For Malek, all of the new attention is exciting but he’s trying to keep things in perspective. “It’s exciting but I think one thing that our coach stresses is to handle it the right way,” Harris said of the recruiting process. “I can be happy but I can’t be satisfied and I know I have so much work to do so right now I’m worried about working and getting better and helping the team win.” Harris, a 6-7 forward from Sandburg High School in Orland Park, Illinois, has received a lot of high-major attention despite being ranked No. 120 in the Rivals class of 2014 national rankings. Harris’ ranking is sure to go up thanks to his motor, his rebounding ability and toughness. Harris is also developing some skills to play on the wing. “I don’t know if I really have a strength besides my motor,” Harris said. “Everyone tells me I play really hard but I don’t really notice it because coach always tells us that if we don’t play hard you shouldn’t play, so I always try to play hard and make plays for my teammates and myself. My strength is making plays and doing whats best for the team.” While Harris isn’t sure which position suits him best at the collegiate level, he still wants to make sure he’s rebounding and playing tough. “I could see myself as a ’2′ or a ’3′ but I’m going to be all over the floor and hitting the glass either way,” Harris said. ”Basketball is a grinder’s sport; you’re going to get little injuries and you have to play through them. If coach is going to let me then I’m going to play.”

While recruiting rankings don't really mean squat, being a top-150 recruit (and a good shooter to boot) suggests he's much better than Parker ... not that I think you're implying that. Perhaps he didn't fit the system as well as he hoped?

Good find, KamdyMan. Seems like a solid addition.

Mikael Herbert - PF - Visiting Nebraska

I'm a blind Tim Miles loyalist, so if he and his staff want him, then I want him on the team. -

I believe he's a little older too, which I think is a good thing. He'll be a grown man by the time he's done here. -

Who has all offer him so far? K-State, Miami, Utah, Providence that I know of. -
Thank Gawd it's over.

It's a message board, and it's recruiting. It's what fans do. It is? I must be a crappy fan. I follow recruiting, but I don't think it makes much sense to try to draw conclusions from every Tweet or post a recruit puts out there. While this process might be the biggest thing on a recruit's mind, it's not the only thing. And here we try to treat every tweet like it's some sort of clue to a puzzle we are to solve before the decision is made... Maybe I should have said, "it's what a lot of fans do." If you're above it, cool. But frankly a number of recruits enjoy giving clues and playing with fans.

I get that it's fun and easy to dismiss this as "just being a song." But it could also very easily be Sai talking about how Arizona didn't want him two years ago, but now Sean Miller (Big Sean) and the Wildcats are showing interest in him. I mean, it's recruiting, who the heck knows?
-
So who is Big Sean?
-
Is Big Sean the performance artist or is this referencing Arizona coach Sean Miller?
-
Perhaps this is why Arizona is interested in Sai... After losing Grant Jerrett to the professional ranks a couple weeks ago Arizona will be losing another front court player, as it was reported by multiple outlets Wednesday evening that rising junior forward Angelo Chol will transfer. Chol, who played his high school basketball at Hoover HS in San Diego, didn’t see a great amount of playing time during his two seasons in Tucson (10.6 mpg) and leaves the school with averages of 2.4 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. With the loss of Jerrett (and Solomon Hill) the Wildcats were down to three front court players with Division I experience. But even with the departures it would have been tough to see Chol’s minutes making a major jump with Brandon Ashley and Kaleb Tarcewski being joined by McDonald’s All-American Aaron Gordon. If Chol indeed does transfer head coach Sean Miller will essentially have a three-man rotation (and just two players with Division I experience) in the front court, with redshirt junior Matt Korcheck looking to earn a few minutes where possible. “He really liked it there,” said Ollie Goulston, his coach at Hoover. “It was a great atmosphere. He liked the coaching staff. There were no negatives that way. They definitely wanted to keep him. He was well thought of there. “He just wants to play a bigger role and have more consistent minutes.” As for where Chol may be headed, multiple reports surfaced shortly after the announcement of his decision that San Diego State and Gonzaga are two possible destinations for the 6-9 power forward.

Any minute now? That seems like forever ago! The suspense is killing me!

That's messed up.

Well, well, well. Hopefully he's just trying to find the right way to break it to his hometown school that he wants to play in Lincoln. I still don't like our odds, though. As his coach said, it'll be awfully tough to say no to ASU.
-
Dang, I was hoping this would end one way or the other tonight.
-
It's just nice being in on recruits with nice offer lists instead of guys choosing us over schools like Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

I would think so. Texas isn't even relevant any more. At Arizona, Sai would be Rondae Jefferson and Aaron gordon's backup. And playing for a legit Final Four contender... He could've done that at Michigan. He said he wanted to go to a program where he would have a bigger impact Sure, but Michigan also wasn't gonna give him a scholarship. I'm not saying it's likely he's going to Arizona, but I wouldn't be shocked if he got stars in his eyes.

Definitely not confident...

I'm not nearly as optimistic as I was a couple of weeks ago.

Brandon Paul's brother is 6-9, 225 pounds and is transferring from Western Michigan after being named the MAC freshman of the year. Sounds like a coach or two got in his ear and talked him into leaving. He's drawn interest from "four schools in Illinois." http://collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/04/25/mac-freshman-of-the-year-darius-paul-transferring-from-western-michigan/

It's been known for at least 2 weeks that AZ st offered him. Not sure why this article changes anything. This is simply just a negative article by an Omaha sports writer. I assume Lee means the offer became "committable." Maybe I'm reading too much into it. There was a post recently on Rivals RCC claiming that Tuamalla had no commitable offer to Arizona State. This seems to change everything. I assume, after this, we will be on the outside looking in. Viva Finland!!! Lee could just be late to the party and I've misinterpreted his story...
